I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and after college I worked on archaeological digs in the Middle East. Between field seasons, I did illustrations for scholarly publications. These days I'm a painter and illustrator in Silver Spring, Md.
I'm a husband of one, father of two, and a professional artist working in the online education field in Virginia. I've drawn cartoons for as long as I can remember, and have always wanted a syndicated comic strip.
I had a comic strip at the RIT in the '80s. After college, I attempted syndication and had a brief strip in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, but then put my comic dreams on the back burner. This contest has shown me that it's never too late.
Born and raised in Orlando, Fla. Drew comics for the University of Central Florida's paper, 'the Future.' Most of my work since then has been self-published 'mini-comix,' as well as a brief run in an alt-rock paper, 'Ink 19.'
I'm a stay-at-home dad and cartoonist/illustrator in the D.C. area. A lot of the gags are based on real life. The idea to include an army spouse came from friends and family, and visits to Bethesda Naval Hospital to draw for Iraq wounded.
Drew cartoons for high-school and college papers, considered it a hobby until a few years ago. Began submitting regularly to publications once I mastered the art of not taking the constant rejection personally.
I am a rising senior at the College of William and Mary, studying math and biophysics, and a cartoonist for the student newspaper, 'The Flat Hat.' When not at school, I'm home with my family in Fairfax Station, Va., loafing.
I live in Astoria, N.Y., with my girlfriend and two daughters. I've spent my career working in the advertising business as an art director and a storyboard artist. I have had multiple strips considered, but alas never sold.
Gre up in the D.C. area and attended the Corcoran School of Art. I exhibit and sell paintings/sculptures, but have always enjoyed cartooning in notebooks. The comics are given the laugh-o-meter test by my wife and sons.
I'm an engineering student who recently started 'Stupid Inventor' as a bi-weekly webcomic. It's based on my YouTube channel Stupid Inventions, where I build most of the crazy contraptions mentioned in the comic.
