NOAA: This year warmest on record so far

So far, this has been the hottest year in recorded history.

On Friday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released new data showing that, from January to July, the average global temperature was 58.1 degrees. That was 1.22 degrees over the average from the 20th century, and the hottest since 1880, when reliable records begin.

And, while NOAA experts say global climate change isn't the only reason that 2010 has been so hot--an El Nino event earlier in the year pushed temperatures up--it's still the most important reason.

"We would not be where we are without" the influence of climate change, said Deke Arndt, of NOAA's National Climatic Data Center.

NOAA data show that July itself was the second-hottest on record, following July 1998. It came after a four-month string of broken records: March, April, May and June were all hotter than they've ever been.

Arndt said that, even if the globe cools down in the remaining months of 2010, the year seems on track to be one of the hottest of all time. "It'll be in the top three, I can safely say that," Arndt said.

Among the warmest spots, according to NOAA: Finland recorded an all-time record temperature of 99 degrees on July 29, and China recorded its hottest July since 1961. Russia has experienced a severe heat wave, in which temperatures set a new record of 102 degrees in Moscow, and huge wildfires burned across the country.

The news from NOAA comes at a time when efforts to tackle climate change--both internationally and in the U.S. Congress--have sputtered. Last year's international conference in Copenhagen produced little of substance, and climate legislation has stalled in the Senate over concerns that increased regulation will cost American jobs.

All summer long we will see news here about discomfort or worse from record high temperatures here and there (Russia, East Coast). We will read about people dying in larger than average numbers. Meanwhile in South America record cold will kill a lot more people but that won't be news because it doesn't make anyone any money and doesn't fit the AGW agenda promoted by the Post.

When winter arrives, and lots of places are colder than normal, and lots of people are dying in larger than normal numbers, it will be weather. Any discussion of disproving global warming will be quickly met with discussions about weather is not climate.

Weather seems to be climate only when it is warmer than normal and supports the AGW propaganda theme. Weather isn't climate when it is colder than normal, like on the US West Coast or eastern Russia, or South America, and the list goes on.

AGW is a religion supported by people who think that the small amount of knowledge they have about CO2 warming the air means they understand the climate and need to save the world. There isn't any amount of evidence that their co-believers can't use their beliefs to predict much of anything that will change their religion. If the sea level rises at only 3 millimeters a year (6 inches in fifty years), well surely next year the rate of sea level rise will increase and the prophesy will come true. Or maybe ten or fifty years from now if we just believe and send money.

Same goes for sea ice, glaciers, etc. Normal variations have been observed and written about in sailing logs, US Navy submarine observations, etc. None of that matters, the ice is melting and we are doomed. Well the northwest passage isn't going to become the new shortcut to China this year as many have forecast, and the short term trend is increasing ice, but the polar bears are still threatened and there are no end of new articles about disappearing ice.

An ice age is probably at least as likely as continued warming over the next few hundred years, and no one really knows because the state of the science is that the unknown unknowns are way too large to be certain about anything.

England is about to start building coal fired electrical generating plants again. In the heart of AGW land and where the English pay big taxes to support nonsensical wind mills and carbon prevention. Seems like some politicians have figured out that it gets cold there in the winter time and they will lose their jobs if the lights go out.

Maybe that is what it will take here. Wide spread blackouts because we are not building the infrastructure to support our economy.

BP is looking at trillions in profit - just VAPORIZED if oil turns out to be an environmental threat to humanity.

So ? Global warming doesn't exist.

What concerns me is - BP runs ads again now on Washington Post and other news papers.

When a struggling paper LIKE the WaPo has to rely on BP's revenue ? and BP says- hey- could you stop running anti-oil ads ?

It leaves me wondering if WaPo will be ABLE to be independent on views.

Take the Weather Channel- that place is a Stepford Wives community - everything is just all okay - all the time over at TWC - and here - listen to some top 20 pop music or elevator music while you relax and realize- there is no global warming- it's ALL okay - just like General Electric needs you to raise sentiment towards regarding global warming.

I won't even begin on the oil, coal, pharmaceutical and political lobby outlet operating under guise of a news station Fox News- wow - it's like they just rented CNN's software- and rented out the lobby voices space... The BEST part of Fox News is ? The programming IS paid TV ads- 30 minutes long - or 1 hour long - and then ? you get the pharmaceutical ads - Depressed? Have to wind yourself up ? Fox News terror Alert level elevated getting you down ? Why just try an expensive anti-depressant lobbied on the station ! You may NEED an anti-depressant if you watch Fox News too long actually.

Oh, I forgot - religious lobby to - it's a quiet Christian theocracy base- they don't make it too obvious - that gets revealed in policy AFTER another coup by an extremist Christian movement - not so unlike the Taliban with Islam in Afghanistan- not so difference at all when you look at the message... Listen to Palin "To restore Christian values to America..." That's no different than Usama BIn Laden saying the Taliban just wants to "restore Islamic values to Afghanistan" even IF only 3% of the population supports the Taliban - and probably true in the US as well- but Fox ALWAYS has a poll- taken on the Fox website - and now ? who would even BE at the Fox site to take it ? Yeah, right - useless polls they run - all to fake it until they make it - I bet less then 3% of US citizens even VISIT the Fox News website.

If I were President ?

I'd make an effort to reach out to ALL the elderly in Texas for this up coming week.

The side of the sun facing us ? is even more active than last week.

It's going to be killer heat - literally.

We need to get this ahead of time.

Run TV ads on ALL local stations- listing public places with air conditioning.

Poweer up additional busses JUST for the elderly- run them down every street- let people get on - and head them off to centers where it's air conditioned IF they can't get there.

We need to be AHEAD of this solar storm - you can see it - the storm is there- the sun is acting up - and it's WITHOUt question from Jupiter and Saturn - April 2011 will be the peak -

We need emergency care to the elderly for cooling for those that can't afford it - or don't have it - perhaps a free air conditioner support group - that comes in and brings you an AC if you don't have one - NO cost - THAT would help.

This is 109 in central Texas WITHOUT ADDING IN relative humidity -

THIS IS KILLER heat coming people.

Next week is going to be off the charts.

You can see it yourself from the Sun - I'd not ignore the EIT 285 slice- that's the hottest slice we GET from the SOHO satellite- which sits at a Lagrangian point between the Earth and SUn

I'd not trust the Weather Channel - TWC will down play ANY serious temperatures - all because they have to because they are in the pockets of the coal lobby- even though what I'm saying here is actually caused by the Sun in this case - which for some reason - TWC doesn't seem to have any talent that is POST Copurnican when it comes to weather.

Besides TWC just wants you to listen to pop music and feel good- that's General Electric's 'general' idea there.

I'd take heed of my points here.

Texas is about to face SERIOUS risk to the elderly next week- you can see a BIG spot is right on the horizon there- it takes 15 days at the equator on the sun for that spot to move across- get this, the poles of the Sun ? it takes LESS time- that's right- you just have to remember the sun isn't solid- but it's a mind bend to imagine the poles turning faster than the equator.

Good luck Texas- think of TXU every time you look at that thermometer and say "I wonder if my aging parents are okay today- it's 109 - and with humidy - 119"

Then think of Bush - and why Enron and TXU were the #1 and #2 users of his campaign jet in 2000.

Then think of Cheney - and Halliburton - who built the BTC pipeline FOR BP - thanks to the aid and protection of the US military.

Then ask - hey- do these energy companies REALLY have my best interests in mind?

I think once US citizens realize Japan's IBUKI satellite data ? PROVING human produced co2 - ESPECIALLY from coal ? IS causing warming ?

I think people will start to make coal a stigma.

Oh, but the jobs ! the jobs ! the precious oil and coal jobs.

What for 2 years ? before you can't afford year round air conditioning ? THOSE jobs are WORTH WRECKING our climate ?

No, the jobs argument is only used by the oil and coal lobby.

People need to find something new to do - build wind - work on the energy grid- we're ONLY 2% done with the smart grid- that should bring PLENTY of jobs - with fusion RIGHT around the corner ? LLL says THIS YEAR - they will have it ?

You can kiss oil and coal futures on the markets GOODBYE.

Want to see a global economic crisis ?

Watch energy futures TANK post announcement sustainable fusion has been reached at LLL.

Will blow Goldman's housing damage OUT OF THE WATER.

That's RIGHT around the corner folks - you HAVE to see it - I can't paint it any clearer for you - LLL says THIS YEAR they'll have sustainable fusion.

Just 3 weeks ago Iran hired MIT's Doctorate Ali Akbar Derein to head up a COMMERCIAL FUSION project with 50 other scientists. NOT fission- FUSION - just a note Iran announced their first operating fission plant today- even those days are about to be over.

On the PLUS side ? With all this excess energy FROM fusion ? We can trap carbon if we want FROM the atmosphere- and clean up after a nightmare century of coal and oil.

Oh, we can clean up - but we'll clean up BP as WELL as the spill.

Sorry BP - you just didn't GET 25% of the world's oil output did you... CLOSE though.

Whole lot of interesting things at the Hague coming BP - regarding YOUR role - Senator Stevens role- to which he won't be testifying will he ? Also regarding BP's involvement with Cheney's closed door energy hearings - and the BTC pipeline that needed US military presence to stabalize the region first... AKA Operation Iraqi Freedom - all through phony data from some harrassed CIA analysts on floor two- who WILL be testifying at the Hague - Along with you Cheney - yes, you're going to the Hague - and JUSTICE will be served for HUMANITY-

Let this be the LAST time a THEOCRACY takes hold of the US - all as a front - the phony Christian Coallition- I'll say this - it takes balls to start the word Coallition with COAL - it's almost as if it was unconscious of the Texas oilmen who brought us the CC who brought us Bush who brought us BP's private security force in Iraq.

Oh it's END DAYS ALL RIGHT Pat Robertson - FOR YOU- for Bush - for Cheney for BP - for Exxon, for Conoco for Sunoco - for former TXU - list goes on....

Fusion puts you ALL into a criminal category for playing with our lives for YOUR personal profits.

Again people

We MUST get OUT of this Copernicun model for weather.

Take a look at this:

See that spot on the left ?

That's going to be here for 2 weeks - all those other hot zones?

Will be here for at least 7 days.

Next week - I don't CARE what the USELESS Weather Channel says as to peak temperatures - Texas is going to ROAST this up coming week.

We need to prepare NOW for the elderly.

It is most unfortunate some people are more interested in seeing profits from oil and coal instead of recognizing that the US insurance sector can't handle the life insurance payouts- let alone the flood damage payouts and fire damages from what is coming.

We're in a unique situation as to context of the entire solar system right now- but having excess co2 ? and now ? methane leaking ? we're playing with our own lives here on a species level if you ask me.

And while BP wanted 25% off the world's oil market in 1997 JUST 25 %? Yea, think about that kind of money and power - it trumps most 3rd world nations ENTIRE GDP ?

These monsters won't stop -

Until the Sun reminds them - what happens on the Sun - unlike Vegas- doesn't STAY on the Sun.

To that- I'd watch out for serious flares in April 2011 - the pull from Saturn and Jupiter should be intense.

I'm researching right now - when the WORST case scenario is in Jupiter and Saturn's elliptical orbit- the criss cross every approximately 10.6 years - but- I am thinking when Jupiter is at it's Perihelion AND Saturn is at IT'S Perihelion - when THAT happens ? We're going to see record setters across the board that year - I don't know when that will happen yet - still looking into it.

Added co2 and extra methane will make EArth hotter than hell that's for sure - PLUS the tidal force aspect- yikes.

There is no need to use the term 'global warming' - it just stirs up useless diatribe that always ends up in part political- and in part energy lobby disinformation, for coal and oil corporations end up with a useless product if it's found co2 is contributing to a warmer climate- which Japan's IBUKI co2 monitoring satellite already proves- I wager it too will 'blow up' soon - but the data is already in - it's conclusive. Perhaps General Electric owns NBC and the Weather Channel- who knows !

But you can't argue astro-phyics you can't deny the Sun gets pulled towards the red giant Jupiter - you can't deny the solar peak cycles match EXACTLY with Saturn and Jupiter's alternating positiions, from same side to oppossite side. You can't argue that the sun is in greater activity during these periods and has ALWAYS brought increase in temperature. You can't argue that co2 and especially methane contribute to trapping heat in the Earth's atmosphere.

The ONLY argument I see from coal and oil lobby- is to argue it's not human activity related. IBUKI proves it is though, this is no longer a valid argument- perhaps to those that don't research - perhaps to those who can't read- or perhaps to those who's PROFITS will be ZERO if coal and oil are found to be DEAD END solutions - which they are.

Now, PLUGGING IN the FACTS that the Sun reaches peak activity when Jupiter and Saturn are in their respective positions as I've mentioned ? Increased Co2 certainly doesn't HELP things -

What is more concerning is the frozen methane hydrates that are starting to melt- Captain Phil called these zones 'crab farts' - little did he know that was methane- plenty of research in Alaska is showing frozen methane hydrates are startng to melt- THAT is a highly dangerous sign if you ask me.

All it takes is a LITTLE methane to out do all the power co2 has as a greenhouse gas.

That the frozen hydrates are starting to melt ? and this is documented ? We are playing with fire here.

During these peak solar periods approximately every 10.6 years on average (it's really 9 to 13, it's ALL Jupiter and Saturn - I've checked- it's ALWAYS dead on to the MONTH) ? FACTOR IN ? More methane and co2 ?

And there you have the problem.

So, the ENTIRE argument about co2 from coal and oil ? And all this talk about "It's all a natural cycle ? " No, someone is thinking PRE-COPERNICUN here - it is INSANE to leave out the Sun factor here.

Peak solar activity every approx 10.6 years PLUS greenhouse gasses is DANGEROUS.

I use this for records:

I think I make a good argument using the positioning of the planets right now :

(Use the slider - I suggest setting it to days - and using that- months can move too quick to see)

Note as of July 17th - every planet is on one side of the sun.

That will pull the Sun closer to the Earth.

Anyone can deduce that would mean more heat absorbed by the planet.

Set it to September 20th - you'll see Jupiter directly behind Earth- that will be the peak for temperature. That the Earth is now on it's way already to a shorter distance as we approach Winter in the Northern Hemisphere ? Should be one killer September. I expect records acrosst the board on the 20th.

It's quite another to say the world is warming because this year has seen the hottest GLOBAL temperatures on record.

And when 9 of the 10 recorded hottest years ever occurred in the last two decades ... then you'd be a fool NOT to say that the world is warming.

Ian MacDonald watched in horror as the oil slick spread across the Gulf of Mexico. It looked overwhelmingly large, too large to match the estimates BP executives were sharing on television.

So MacDonald, a Florida State University oceanographer who has studied natural oil seeps in the Gulf of Mexico for decades, decided to do his own math, producing a number five times greater than the official estimate of 200,000 gallons a day. He fired off an e-mail to his colleagues.

They aren't telling us the truth, it said.

Now, this once anonymous academic is the face of the scientific community's claims that BP and the federal government have understated the severity of the massive oil spill. He has railed against BP, federal regulators and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on CNN and in some of the most prestigious publications in Britain and the United States.

If you're going to claim that a warm year means global warming is real, you have to be willing to admit the reverse, that when it's cooler next year, it's proof of global cooling.

Seriously, why is it that when people point out how cool it is, some yahoo will claim they're confusing weather with climate. But then they're more than willing to say the same thing when it hot outside.

And if this was the coldest year on record since 1880, that would be because man-made pollution was blocking the sun's rays and we would still need immediate action on "climate change".

And the exact same characters would be playing the exact same roles in this increasingly tedious song and dance that has been going on for over 20 years since the environmentalists realized everyone wasn't dying from DDT and they needed a new issue for fund raising.

August 14, 2009: Oil Industry Group Sends ‘Sensitive’ Memo Detailing Plan for ‘Astroturf’ Rallies to Oppose Global Warming Legislation
Edit event

The press releases a confidential, “sensitive” memo from the American Petroleum Institute (API) detailing a plan to create “Astroturf” rallies at which industry employees posing as ordinary citizens will urge Congress to fight climate change legislation. The memo was obtained by the environmental group Greenpeace and sent to several reporters. It urges oil companies to recruit their employees for events that will “put a human face on the impacts of unsound energy policy,” and will urge senators to “avoid the mistakes embodied in the House climate bill.” The campaign is funded by a coalition of corporate and conservative groups called the “Energy Citizens” alliance, which includes the anti-health care reform group 60 Plus, the industry “grassroots” organization FreedomWorks (see April 14, 2009), Grover Norquist’s Americans For Tax Reform, the American Conservative Union, and the National Taxpayers Union. API president Jack Gerard, who signed the memo, asks recipients to give API “the name of one central coordinator for your company’s involvement in the rallies.” And it warns, “Please treat this information as sensitive… we don’t want critics to know our game plan.” At least two major oil corporations, BP and Shell, are members of API and also belong to the US Climate Action Partnership, which supports the House legislation sponsored by Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Edward Markey (D-MA). API has spent over $3 million lobbying against that bill this year. API spokesman Bill Bush says his organization is not trying to deceive anyone. “I don’t think anyone’s hiding the ball about this,” he says. “I don’t think anyone’s trying to suggest that this doesn’t have anything to do with the oil and gas industry.” Greenpeace has asked API to reveal the member companies funding the Astroturf efforts. Shell Oil Company later informs reporters that it will not take part in the rallies. In a statement, the corporation says, “Shell’s position is not aligned with the consensus opinion of the API on Waxman-Markey, therefore Shell will not participate in the rallies.” [Gerard, 8/2009; TPM Muckraker, 8/14/2009]

Global warming is becoming increasingly evident and we are probably only 5 years away from governments starting to take draconian action. Fact is, hundreds of millions of people in China and India are going to be wanting cars, pc's, tv's, etc., as these countries modernize. Global warming and climate change are not only inevitable, but unstoppable. What to do now? Governments need to start planning to move populations away from coastal areas in preparation of rising sea waters. We need to be able to store wheat and corn in warehouses for several years, at least. On an individual level, getting out of living in coastal areas, buying land in the upper Midwest.

I'm just saying

It's pretty sad so many climatologists ignore the Sun.

It's as if weather prediction is STILL pre-Copurnican.

I find DIRECT correlation to the activity on the sun via SOHO At and killer temp days.

Sure they say El Nino - but they can't tell you what was behind El Nino.

The Sun is A SERIOUS player in weather.

And Jupiter and Saturn are SERIOUS players as to activity on the sun - I checked, EVERY time Jupiter and Saturn are either on opposite sides - or alternating - same side ? EVERY TIME - it matches up EXACTLY with the peak solar activity we have on record. EVERY TIME - it's down to the MONTH.

That BEATS the GENERIC 'The sun has an 11 year cycle, but it varies from 9 to 13 years and no one knows why'.

I'll TELL you why

It's Saturn and Jupiter and it has to do with when they are EXACTLY LINED UP on SAME SIDE or OPPOSITE SIDE - go look for yourself.

I've given up relying on what's SUPPOSED to be the BEST resource for weather-

SCREW the Weather Channel - useless General Electric prozac station.

DO you OWN math- see it for yourself - I'm CONVINVED we can NOT afford to ignore the weather on the Sun - our weather is DEEPLY connected to it - and yet ?

You NEVER EVER EVER see SOHO mentioned on ANY TV or Newspaper weather - EVER.

And yet ? it's CRITICAL in understanding what's coming.

You can SEE IT - right now- the Sun is acting up - it's emitting MORE energy- and WE are getting it- it's THAT SIMPLE - (plus we're closer due to the freak circumstance of all the planets beind on one side pulling it towards the planets).

Oh well- I give up -what's the point of even trying - no one is listening anyway.

I took part in that Weather Channel Global Warming chat-

they didn't publish ANY of my comments.

They DID publish this one comment that went something like "Global warming is the biggest hoax"

I pointed out JApan's IBUKI satellite has PROVEN co2 from humans is contributing to rising temperature.

Check it out for yourself - google IBUKI... The data is in - it's PROVEd.

Coal and oil will TRY to hide that- US had two satellites that would have proven this - go figure- both blew up - one on launch and the second over the north pole.

Those are Senator Steven's Odds there !

TWO TIMES - crash city.

I looked up who owns the Weather Channel

Which is owned by General Electric

which goes with coal.

So, yes, even The Weather Channel is OWNED by coal lobby.

My points are legit.

We KNOW stars move due to planetary graviational pull- I've shown that on July 17th- this not so common scenario happened.

I've shown that the solar cycles match up EXACTLY with the condition of Jupiter and Saturn alternating from same side- to opposite side

Bottom line the sun is closer right now - than it would normally be - AND it's under stress - NEAR peak stress coming in April 2011-

THAT should get Texas some real nice 115 degree temps.

And good for Pro oil TExas

they can be the first to try on unbearable temperatures.

So, THIS is why we have maximum temperatures right now - I can tell you with 100% accuracy - There won't be a break in these temperatures in central Texas - at 108 - for at LEAST 7 days- and it depends really on how instense this new hot spot is coming around there on the horizon - it takes ABOUT 15 days for what you see on the LEFT in that image to make it to the other side and exit facing the Earth.

Add in our added Co2 ? It certainly doesn't help - I think that's why I see this Venus like atmosphere here in Pennsylvania - it's always just hazy - humid this summer-

Either way- you HAVE to see the Sun is closer to the Earth due to all the planets being on one side- it won't be until September 20th when Earth moves out of position of this circumstance.

I REALLY think US should be helping Pakistan - for many reasons- but the worst is yet to come.

I GUARANTEE you Texas will not see a break from this - high pressure or not - it's directly related to the Sun - A. being closer due to freak circumstance of the planets all entering position to be on one side on July 17th - I noted that date 2 years ago playing with a Java applet for planet positions - I thought, wow- you'd think if all the planets were on one side- due to how we use Sun wobble to detect exoplanets- we should expect OUR sun to 'wobble' due to the tidal pull of the planets- and I DO believe that is EXACTLY what is happeing - and B - we just HAPPEN to be entering out peak solar cycle that is causal from Jupiter and Saturn's position.

Now, to find a job - even delivering pizza.

I have no question about this theory I have here- it all fits- and according to MY theory - there will be NO break from these record temps until at LEAST 7 days from now - until you see those hot spots - turn to the back side of teh sun- BUT ? CHANCES ARE ? More are coming right around the bend - and I see one REAL bright one coming right now on the horizon to the left- you can see it.

We're going to have floods like you've never seen in the next 6 weeks.

Tim Miltz

Sucks though to have no where to take this theory - I'd think we could prepare better- keeep careful watch for flooding - we could start helping elderly in the south get to air conditioning for the next 1 to 2 weeks of deadly temperatures.

Add in the Guld with moisture ? 108 in Texas DRY heat ? PLUS humidity ? Whole lotta people are going to die- that's insane- 108 + relative humidity on top of that.

I am in a way - saying - a STORM is coming, but it's SOLAR - instead of rain - it's heat - and humidity.

We can ignore it - or maybe someone reading this will say- hey - Tim makes some sense here- we need to pass this upstream to FEMA- to prepare.

This is no ordinary circumstance.

Next April will be the perfect storm - only Solar storm.

Oh yeah

I've attempted to share with people a good theory here.

First- look a where all the planets are

Second - notice on July 17th, all the planets were on one side of the sun.

The sun will be PULLED toward Earth.

There IS no instrument in the entire world that measures the distance of the Sun to the Earth - but I'm convinved these planetary tidal forces have pulled the sun closer -

This is PART of it.

If you look at the solar cycles - and I have - and I matched them up - the solar cycles are not 11 years, they range from 9 to 14 years. I went back a full century - nothing that Saturn and Jupiter ? every time we have a solar peak cycle ? It alternates, one approx. 11 year cycle, Jupiter and Saturn are on one side of the sun EXACTLY in line with each other, and the OTHER cycle when the Sun's polarity flips Saturn and Jupiter are at opposite sides of the Sun.

Now, in April 2011 NEXT YEAR - we will have Jupiter and Saturn EXACTLY opposite.

This will pull on the sun - and we will have our peak solar cycle in April - next year, NOT 2013 as NASA speculates.

I am convinced of this.

It fits - perfectly.

Our Sun's peak activity is SIMPLE when Saturn and Jupiter are on one side lined up - and also when on opposite sides, happens ABOUT on average 10.6 years ?

But if you actually use that planetary model ?

You will see that those times when the solar peak cycle is NOT 11 years ? and is 9 or up to 13 ? Saturn and Jupiter are ALWAYS EXACTLY in line or on EXACT opposite sides of the sun.

So, it's clear to me this is the prime causal factor.

So there you have it - in April 2011, Jupiter will be behind the Earth - pulling the Sun towards it - Jupiter beats Saturn on tidal force, so - the Sun next April will be pulled CLOSER to Earth than even now - AND it will be peak activity.

I expect record flooding, record heat waves, record drought and fires due to high temperatures and fast evaporation. Flooding from record evaporation from lakes.

What can YOU do about it ?

nothing - but I find it very interesting to study- and I believe I've reached a stable understanding of the causal factors here.

Bottom line though, the Sun IS closer to Earth this summer- and it will be until November - ironcically we will be closer in our elliptical orbit entering into Winter, but I'd argue with the Sun being pulled towards Jupiter right now ? I'd expect the winter to be absolutely wickedly cold, as we will be a GREATER distance then normal AWAY from the Sun during winter, even though we are closer in Winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

Global Warming is an unacknowledged emergency.

If events prove life-threatening to all of humanity, survival could become an extremely powerful motivator.

The Arctic Global Warming Tipping Point has recently been found to be 400 parts per million of carbon in the atmosphere.

We are currently at 390ppm and adding 2ppm each year.

Replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy systems as fast as possible may soon be recognized as necessary to insure human survival.

See A 5 Point Program at for a summary and some supporting evidence.

If the threat proves genuine, we need to provide whatever incentives are necessary to produce and deploy renewable energy systems on a 24/7 basis, worldwide. We may need to do that very fast!

The earth has experienced two Tipping Points in the distant past. Both destroyed most life on the planet. In one case down to single-celled organisms.

A Tipping Point is unstoppable once it begins. Preventing it still appears possible. If we fail, we may have to kiss our lives goodbye.

Check the facts. Ironically, what might prove necessary could open a door to a strong economic recovery.

If we confront the challenge, the economy could revive in a manner analogous to the way WWII ended the great depression. The huge number of jobs generated by that war resulted in a 2% rate of unemployment.

It is past time for leadership and truly effective action to emerge from both the White House and Congress!

yeah, if the frauds at NOAA say it, it must be true!

ALANCE, calm down.

Aliens do not run the country.

Micheal Steele really is black.

Newt Gingrich really did get thrown out of Congress for embezzling from his own campaign funds.

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell really don't have a clue on how to fix any of the problems the GOP has heaped upon this country the last 40 years so wage war against the American people until they can find a platform.

And science really is based on documented, observed, repeatable facts.

If you get to a public health department before the GOP tries to close them down you might get some useful meds for your condition - a total disconnect with reality.

Man oh man will this weather get a rise out of the right... Nah. They still don't get this "reality" concept unless they vote it off the ark.

NOAA, the EPA, FDA, Interior Dept. and Coast Guard are part of a massive criminal coverup of the British Petroleum Catastrophe. The White House orchestrates what they are permitted to say.

If NOAA lies about and covers up the extentent of the environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, they cannot be believed on anything they have to say about the earth's climate.

uh, we've had solar flares since 1880, don't you think?

I see, Alance, if the scientists don't agree with your political view, they must be corrupt, right? Yeah, that's the ticket.

And Theaz, you are sounding more and more ignorant with every post. Give up while you're...well...less behind.

You guys dropped "Global Warming", and hijacked "Climate Change"; which there has been a history of for tens of thousands of years!

I was taught that before the name "Al Gore" burned my lips, and they didn't blame big bad CO2!

So how is, that you can't explained the FACTS of the Climate Changes in the past, but you claim FACTS for a future event that hasn't occur yet!

NOAA is a corrupt mouth-piece of the White House, the oil companies and Al Gore.

A prominent oceanographer, who was among the first to say official estimates understated the volume of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, charged Tuesday that a federal agency is punishing scientists whose findings disagree with government figures.

Ian MacDonald, an oceanographer with Florida State University, who more than two weeks ago said the oil spill was likely five times as large as the 5,000 barrel-a-day estimate from the National Oceanic Atmospheric and Administration, said the agency is attacking scientists who challenged government estimates, while itself doing little to glean new information about the spill size.

“The scientific community in the Gulf of Mexico is fairly small ... and we've been very dedicated for a long time and not only is nobody listening to us in this, but it seems like they really want us to shut up,” MacDonald said. “It's very, very punitive and anybody who is doing this is getting attacked by NOAA.”

The Southern Hemisphere has had record cold temperatures this year with fish kills and sub-freezing temperatures in ABC - Argentina, Brazil and Chile - and Bolivia. It is scandalous our government agencies are so fradulent.

Here is the essence of the debate over climate change:

Actual experts study actual data, inform us that this is the hottest year on record, and give us a couple of explanations why this is the case.

An anonymous commenter named MALEKO17 fabricates a false explanation and tells people not to worry. It's pure fantasy, almost entirely the opposite of the truth.

And our politicians side with the people who make stuff up.

You're off by a few years, Maleko17:

And solar flares affect us electromagnetically, not thermally.

Even if you were correct, you'd have to account for all the record hot years in the last 20 or more.

No fear-mongering here.

If you look at NOAA's map it shows temperatures in the northern great lakes averageing 430 degrees F. That's right 430 degrees. I didn't read about the Great Lakes boiling away though.

It is simply amazing how the leftards take scare stories like this authors and don't check up on the fraud at NOAA.

Sorry MALEKO17, you are as wrong as wrong can be. We were at a solar activity minimum, as expected, and should be coming out of it by now. For reasons not understood our star has not yet shown an expected increase in sunspot activity, the precursor of solar flare eruptions. Stop attempting to spread obvious falsehoods in order to support your misguided beliefs.

Stop attempting to gull readers, MALEK017. Solar flares happen all the time, and the Sun is on an 11-year cycle. It's had periods of extra activity dozens of times since 1880, yet only now are we seeing record temperatures.

In fact, six of the ten hottest recorded years have occurred since 2000, including several in years of low solar activity. 3 of the remaining four years on that top ten list came in the 90s.

Given that simple fact, I can't believe there are people still actually denying the fact of warming.

No wonder you have to resort to dishonesty, including grossly misrepresenting the position of NASA.

NASA - like NOAA and the National Academy of Sciences - completely agrees with the accepted science, which shows that global warming is real and caused by human activity.

NASA official statement: "Global warming is happening now, and scientists are confident that greenhouse gases are responsible."
