Should the Bill Have An Employer Mandate?

The Senate Finance Committee bill does not include a requirement that businesses contribute to the cost of health care for their employees, known as an employer mandate. Do you think the final legislation should have that provision?

Keep Sight of the Goal

Employer health plans are no longer the solution as these same plans have contributed to the downfall of many of those companies that offered them.

Expect Hidden Health Taxes

By directly taxing employers to cover the uninsured, there's more transparency and light brought to a process that's currently hidden, arcane and inequitable.

Just a Distraction

A Misguided Way of Thinking

The notion that employers either provide a specified level of coverage or pay a penalty, the so-called "employer mandate," is the wrong way to think of the employer's role.

Pay or Play-- Is There Another Way?
