A Leader Committed to Health Reform
Sen. Kennedy devoted his life to public service. He made quality, affordable health care for all Americans his personal crusade. His leadership and ability to work across party lines will be sorely missed during this historic debate over health reform. The Senate will be a smaller and sadder place without his enthusiasm, his energy and his persistent courage.

I sadly realize no words can move the stone cold hearts of those opposed to insurance and health reform. So, I wonder if someone you hold dear suffers as a result of a catastrophic illness and a health insurance nightmare, will your eyes open and your heart soften?

JAMA452: I doubt there is anyone who is actually against healthcare reform. People are opposed to government taking a bigger role in controling our lives. Also cost shifting does not equal cost savings. The current bills do absolutely nothing to reduce costs. They simply add bureacracy and cost to the already complicated and costly system.
People opposed to these bills are not cold-hearted. Quite the opposite. They are very passionate about what they believe. The big difference is that they have not been blinded by their emotion.
