Is It Possible to Put a Train Wreck Back on the Track?
This health-care issue has become a train wreck. It's destination has not been made clear by the president, the enormous proposed legislation has caused mass confusion caused and the voting public is reacting with hostility.
Calling the American voting public a mob is not wise. The voices of the people have always been the driving force in our great country. Those individuals who are mocking these voices, including the president, should be listening. Such disrespect by all parties is unfortunate but is an eruption of the revolt that is felt in the hearts of millions of Americans who are, for the first time in their lifetime, feeling fear.
They are fearful of the confusion with which this proposed change has been presented. They are fearful that the most important issues, such as fraud, tort reform and malpractice reform, are not being pursued. They are fearful of of the astounding debt that will be accrued. They are more alarmed because of the other massive debts that have been accumulated by this administration in less than a year.
We expect more than empty, colorful rhetoric from our president. We want proposed legislation to make sense. It does not. He has not been able to explain his plan, if he has one, to the satisfaction of the public. This is a government of the people and they feel the power of their vote and their voice slipping through their hands. One always speaks louder when one is not being acknowledged or listened to.
We need a new train, or plan. This one is beyond repair. The priorities are wrong. We want the money that is being lost in insurance, Medicare and Medicaid fraud to be recovered. We want more emphasis on wellness and fitness. We want the freedom to choose our own insurance and doctors. We want the drug companies to be reined in when it comes to cost for the consumer.
This is an enormous problem but we have not seen the right medicine proposed to heal it, as yet.

Hello, this is my first time to comment on your article or any blog for that matter, thank you for your honest comments and I for one agree with you, I think the more we talk about what is going on in Washington the more people are going to "UNDERSTAND" what is going on in Washington and our Congress.
Thank you again,
Dee13

Hi Dee 13, Thank you for your comments. I think many people are commenting, thinking and acting now because of the confusing and potentially scary nature of what is happening in our wonderful country. We the people have to speak up. This country belongs to us, not Washington. Our sons, fathers and husbands and wives have spilled their blood for these freedoms which are now threatened. Thanks again, Sue
