If Only It Were That Easy...
If only there were a golden health care system somewhere in the world that stood as a shining example of affordability, fairness, excellence in care and swift delivery. The truth is that while there are nations who have done a pretty good job at health care, all of them have their flaws and many are simply a little better or a little worse than others. Including ours.
There's no one for us to emulate as we grapple with reform. But our system is reparable. The US has the some of the finest medical and policy minds in the world. Now is the time to bring that wisdom to bear. As the conversation on Capitol Hill continues, it must include voices from every aspect of the health care continuum, especially patients.
