Holistic Success

It is always difficult to separate erratic and unequal performance from being overlooked or under-appreciated, and that is just one of many talent choices leaders must make. A -- or maybe the-- key function of leadership is finding and developing talent.

In the past talent was seen as finding the great person, the uber talent, the top performer. Too often the great teammate, the morale booster, the listener who could gel situations and forge strong teams were passed over for the sake of marquee performers.

In a complicated, global world, success is a team sport. And the Kurt Warners of the world need to be seen in a holistic context of success.
