Now It's Obama's Responsibility
He who pays the piper calls the tune. When GM sought and accepted the government's money, it accepted the White House crew as a de facto board of directors. And given the leadership provided by Rick Wagoner, the decision was a reasonable one. Two other points. One, Ford will be much more reluctant than it already is to seek a federal bailout. And, two, if Wagoner's successor fails, it's Obama's failure.
