Walking the Leadership Walk

Leaders by definition need to lead by example. The steel industry is certainly reacting to the effects of the recession, and well-led companies are working to simultaneously increase their market share and decrease expenses. The objective is to balance our revenue and expense equation without resorting to laying off any of our high performing team members.

We value every employee and have taken the long view to preserve the team for future expansion and business opportunity. One of the expense-reduction measures that we are prepared to execute is salary and wage cuts, but you can bet that we will start with the senior leadership of the company. We will walk the talk and lead the way. Would that the rest of the country's executives follow our lead. Leadership and integrity matter.
