No Second Helpings of Greed
These companies and funds should appreciate that most American taxpayers, who rescued them and the economy, have not seen the same benefits in their own lives. It is time for a thank you to the American people for its willingness to take risk and not a time for a second helping of greed.
Why not use some of your creative world-class financial skills to offer new products, services, and support for the middle class who are struggling with their mortgages, debt, or your failed investments?
Why not hold back on excessive compensation and offer assistance to institutions in your community that are struggling? Why not give the workers, not just the executives at companies, some help with their health care and a bonus themselves?
Rather than return to business as usual, isn't it time for some good old fashioned American patriotism? Love your country more than your company.
