Question: From a leadership perspective--moving the country and the political process away from division and gridlock and toward consensus, confidence and action--how would you grade President Obama's State of the Union speech?

Overall the challenge for a leader is to link a broad, often disparate set of important activities into a coherent theme. This speech did a very creditable job of putting the ideas into a common theme. Another important job of a leader is to lay out the boundaries of an acceptable solution--this too, was well articulated in several places.
