Hard work, skill and faith
Q: How much does achieving success rely on luck vs. skill? This week a Western Maryland lumberjack named Darvin Moon won $5 million in the World Series of Poker. He insists he is no more skilled at cards than any recreational player. What do you think?
I believe success is a unique combination of hard work, skill and faith -- all mixed in appropriate portions.
From my perspective as a Christian business leader who continues to be successful in achieving our corporate goals, it is difficult for me to respond about luck. I personally do not believe in "luck."
For me, my actions are very deliberate and I believe that success is intentional. I do not know Mr. Moon and his background; however, I wish him well.
