Do you feel safe on Metro?
On Thursday, the National Transportation Safety Board added transit rail-car design to its list of "most wanted" safety improvements, after it determined that the design of the Metro system cars were partially at fault for the collapse of cars during the Red Line crash in June. The cost of replacing the outdated cars currently in use on the Metro system would be nearly $1 billion.
