Is Glenn Beck sincere about politics?

Is Glenn Beck in it for the money?

A new Forbes magazine article reveals how lucrative Glenn Beck's inflammatory politics are - and how politics may not even be his first love.

As the piece, notes: "With a deadpan, Beck insists that he is not political: 'I could give a flying crap about the political process.' Making money, on the other hand, is to be taken very seriously, and controversy is its own coinage." Read the full blog post.

Glen Beck is an individual with a wealth of mental issues and a personal self love attitude. He caters to the worst prejudice, ignorance an racism in the right wing nut groups . Don't be fooled, it's all about Beck.

The man will soon join his mother and step brother by ending his life. The sooner the better. He is like a member of Al Qaeda. Obama is black and Beck can't stand it.Racist and just a nut case.

To DALVA1:
"Restoring America to its greatness" is white code for: Let's go back to a society in which whites are in power and women are in the kitchen and popping out babies. Let's get rid of a black uppity president and go back to the glory days of Ronald Reagan.

He's an ex- morning zoo type dj, not exactly a useful profession. Listening to Beck would be like listening to Howard Stern or the Greaseman expound on politics. But he's one heckuva showman, crying on cue even though he doesn't really care about what he's saying, that's Brando territory. He just proves that Abe Lincoln had it right when he said that you can fool some of the people all of the time.

This is not the first self-announcement where Beck has proclaimed his interest in cash over news. A while ago during his spot on "The View," he sputtered that he was an entertainer and therefore his work didn't require fact checking. It makes me question the intelligence of the tea-baggers and republicans that draw inspiration from his every breath.

Glenn Beck is either insane or in it for the money...I think he's probably in it for the money. His nonsensical rhetoric is pretty over the top. Scary people actually think this guy knows what he's talking about...but if you can make money off it, why not? Can't blame the guy for doing it. It is pretty entertaining to watch, I will admit, mostly because it is so jaw-droppingly insane. I actually start laughing sometimes. It kind of reminds me of watching Borat or something.

I saw him with my own eyes about two years ago saying the US health care system was seriously broken. Now he's saying it's the best in the world. A very successful conman is all he is.

I encourage all to watch the movie "A Face In The Crowd" for an accurate portrayal of Glen Beck in the character of Lonesome Roads. Initially sincere, rapidly becoming jaded, and unable to distinguish between the realities and myths of his own persona.

Glenn Beck is a saint and an excellent professor detailing Dems of Obama ilk changing our nation into a communist paradise of a worthless dollar because of our Kenyan born president's wild spending. Glenn Beck for president.

Yes he did and back then he used to at least be reasonable, then he started to make this hard turn to the right and then went straight LOCO!! I'm all for differing opinions, but this guy has gone off the reservation! I'm all for making money and capitalism, the problem is everybody wants money and NOBODY wants to be responsible for what they say or do to get it! Look at the owners of the Mines, Profits over people should never be a capitalist tag line!!

Classic example of the danger of this man! The man admitted he is in it for the money and facts be damned...Yet he has these type of folks hanging on his every word...You have to be careful of the Beast you create, becasue often times the creator of the beast is killed by the beast!

Glen Beck wil go down in History. Don't know who with but most likely it will be with that other puggy Rx commodean.

Watching this guy, I get the sense of a master performer. He practically oozes agitation and fear as he spins these bizarre conspiracy theories for the clueless. His genius is that it stops just short of rank hatred, which would frighten many viewers a little too much. Rather, he leaves it to the viewers to take that step themselves. He is an entertainer, and a good one. His followers don't even realize that it's all an act. He is their god, who interprets the world for them. Yes, they want him to be president, "president for life".

Posted by: DaveHarris | April 9, 2010 2:17 PM

Sure he is, and I'm Chevy Chase.

Posted by: st50taw | April 9, 2010 2:31 PM

I really hope he's in it for the money. Regardless of what his motivation is he's an uneducated racist vaudevillian.

Posted by: dcperspective | April 9, 2010 2:32 PM

"Sincere" may be the wrong term. The real question is whether he is just delusional and actually believes the garbage he says, or is he aware and intentionally paid to disseminate GOP propaganda.

The only persons who listen to this fool never went to school.

Posted by: davidsawh | April 9, 2010 3:53 PM

He appeals to the lunatic fringe. The same people who loved that moron w.

Posted by: davidsawh | April 9, 2010 3:54 PM

If he gave a rat's arse about politics he would get hissef a junior high civics book and read it. Clearly he could not pass a middle school civics class, so claiming he "cares about America" is just horse manure. he couldn't hack it spinning records so he found a different schtick. All thatnis required to fire up his benighted audience is yelling that liburals is bad and then crying because you love 'merica sooooo muuuuch.

What a tool. Asking those hard hitting question like "Is President Obama Planning to Start FEMA consentration camps?" Inquiring minds want to know......

Posted by: John1263 | April 9, 2010 8:01 PM

beck will be an historical footnote about the dangers of lunatics with media outlets. He will be noted along side father coughlin, david duke, rush limbaugh as examples of America's worst impulses on display.

A self described rodeo clown making 32 Million well that tells me like ,Sarah I quit my job to make money, they are just selling their souls for the money and the spot light. Destroying our country in the process means nothing to them. I pray that God's justice is done unto them and that sooner rather than later they are silenced by their party for the good of our country. Political discussion is one thing but the ad hominum attacks that have been almost non stop for 3 years are something else. For all their yelling and name calling President Obama still won. I think a former president once said, elections have consequences. I thnk the GOP forgot that fact. I think the mid terms are not in the GOP pocket as much as they think. Hate speech by these folks will continue to turn " thinking" ppl away. God is watching and listening and I think he knows which party really has the welfare of his ppl in their policies and actions.

Let me second Barkfeather's recommendation of "A Face in the Crowd." Excellent movie on all counts (script, acting, et al.,) but particularly fine in its depiction of Lonesome Rhodes, a drifter who becomes a media con man. Movie came out in 1958, as I recall; it's as on the mark today as ever. Also applies to that other media hustler, Ms. Palin. These folks are all of the same ilk.

Posted by: lstrauss2 | April 9, 2010 10:16 PM

Beck and Palin together figured out how to spell *politics* and say *nuk-clear*.

Of course he's in it for the money. But as soon as his name is attached to something bad happening to someone or the country, he will distance himself from *politics* and he won't be in it any more.

Easy as that...

Beck's previous job was a radio shock jock in Arizona. He never showed any interest in politics, either through education or vocation, until he found out he could make lots of money spouting unadulterated opinion on TV.

His commentary shows no depth of knowledge of history, politics, law, the Constitution, International Relations, economics, finance, public policy, environmental science, political science, sociology, or any discipline that would be remotely useful for discussing US politics.

If Beck could make more money and get as much attention hosting a reality show, he would leave political commentary tomorrow and never look back.

Posted by: AxelDC | April 9, 2010 10:55 PM

The problem lies in the lies. I don't really care if Beck is only in it for the money, however it shows a disregard for and lack of concern for the nation if he self-indulges himself for economic reasons by purposely misinforming large segments of the population. But then, money before country has been the GOP mantra and pracice for some time now.
