Our president is fighting an uphill battle that he may not win. His heart and is head have been in the wrong place focused so long on his private ego trips and beating down everything the other party worked on. I won't vote for him again and I won't vote for the Democrats this fall. Sorry, you lost me at Hello!

Obama's trainng by the Russian Academy of Sciences prior to 1992 did not include how to raise your popularity once people figure out you are a communist devil.

There is no resurrecting Clueless Comrade Barry.

America has had her Marxist president - and her Marxist economics lesson - and she’s had enough.

“Sixty-eight percent of U.S. voters prefer a smaller government with fewer services and lower taxes to a more active one that offers more services and higher taxes.” – Rasmussen Reports

It no longer matters what the Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Time, MSNBC, CNN or even Clueless Comrade Barry himself has to say about anything.

The voters have seen how this president operates and they’ve seen enough.

They watched the Clueless One take over anything he could get his hands on, borrow as much money from the Chinese as they would lend him, pay off every deadbeat Democrat that would line up for a handout, suck up to every anti-American despot who would give him an audience, call everyone who disagreed with any portion of his agenda a racist, clown with every TV talk show host and pose for every frivolous magazine cover that would have him all the while throwing nightly dance parties at the White House as if a newly minted rap star had been anointed President-for-a-Day... all this, of course, when he wasn’t taking his entourage on yet another Air Force One-chauffeured vacation.

Americans have taken a good hard look at Comrade Barry and are now firmly convinced this fool has no business running anything they have a stake in much less holding court in the Oval Office.

The first post-American president has succeeded in one thing only… proving (yet again) that you cannot redistribute your way to prosperity.

You can put a fork in him. Clueless Comrade Barry is done.

The only thing left for the Marxist Democrats to do is start their obligatory rewrite of history… it really wasn’t our fault… it would have worked out if… there was just too much greed for us to overcome… if only we could have worked together… the world is now just so complicated…

Sic semper tyrannis!

And good riddance!

As our economy continues to improve, the President and Democrats will be credited for it. Certainly Republicans have had nothing to do with it.

Posted by: tm13 | September 28, 2010 2:19 PM

Obama is a joke, a fraud, an illusionist. He pulled a sleight of hand on the American public two years ago. He deceived the voters and his party will pay the price this November and he'll pay the price in two years. There is nothing he can do about it. The only question is the size of the landslide his party will suffer. The more he opens his mouth, the bigger the margin of victory for the Republicans will be. He cannot be trusted to run the country, the government, the economy, or foreign policy. I'm 60 years old. My generation has seen bad presidents. Nixon and Carter come to mind. This man is far worse than either of them and will go down as the worst president in American history.

Earth to planet liberal, will ya stop trying to convince yourselfs that you and your out of touch party is doing great.HELLO, you lost the peoples republic of Massachusetts seat to Republican Scott Brown and not just any seat, were talking Teddy boys old seat.58%of americans want obamacare repealed HELLO 58%.Unemployment is at a whopping 9.7%(it's probably much higher)after they promised it wouldn't go above 8 if we passed the porkulus. You can 'project' all you want but facts are facts in this "summer of recovery".My prayer is that the radicals that have taking over the democratic party(you know the George Soros types)will be totally rejected by patriotic americans and thrown out never to rise again.Jigs up!!!!!

THe press reported that the Republican Tea Party now has a "new" strategy to take the Senate: by winning Connecticut and West Virginia. I don't know about West Virginia, but it the Republican Tea Party is hinging their hope in Connecticut, then they are really in big, big trouble now. Connecticut will never go for a Tea Partier ran sleazy business and try to use her sleazy money to buy an election.

President Obama will be able to fire up his supporters to vote for Democrats all around the country in November.

Go, Democrats!

This man can talk & we also know he can read BUT it turns out that's about all he can do. Nov. can not get here fast enough & I'm a democrat.!

Posted by: mct1 | September 28, 2010 4:08 PM

LOL LOL. Some of you are so funny because you're so hateful. You really hate President Obama. He's a communist, Marxist, Muslim, etc... You are so convinced (or are you really) that he's a monster, not one of "us", "different".... What's really going on with you people? What's really at the heart of your vehement hatred of President Obama? So you disagree with his political philosophy and policies, that's legitimate. But something else seems afoot because your hatred is so passionate, you literally drip contempt and loathing, why? What exactly has President Obama done that deserves the degree of vitriol directed at him by so many of you? Come on be honest. Is it something that he's done or is it simply because he is, his mere being, his being President that alone is why your faces are so red with hate. I get the impression that much of what you accuse him of his really window dressing for what you're really feeling and thinking. I truly believe that many of you know President Obama is not communist or marxist or even muslim but those are convenient code words that speak to people like yourselfs, wink wink, nod nod your type will get the message.
President Obama inherited an economy that experts thought was on the verge of another great depression after having been in a recession for almost two years at that time. He came into office with the economy losing over 700,000 jobs per month in Dec, Jan. and Feb 2009. The financial services sector was literally collapsing with some of our largest banks and brokerage firms failing overnight. Banks weren't lending to each other, the public or business, credit had dried up. The housing market was in free fall with foreclosures at record highs. The American auto industry was on the verge of extinction along with its millions of jobs. The budget deficit inherited by President Obama was at or near one trillion dollars. And lets not forget we were at war in two countries. These are the facts. You can have your own opinions but you don't get to have your own facts.
President Obama has been able to get the economy moving again, albeit, slowly, but at least its now heading in the right direction. The financial sector is strong and thriving again and many institutions have repaid their government loans. The auto industry is also back on its feet and has repaid or is in the process of repaying the government loans. President Obama took some dramatic actions in the face of a real national crisis to save our nation's and the world's economy, the economy he inherited from a Republican President and Republican policies. While you may not like some of his policies due to political philosophy, I'm still left with my original question, why exactly do you so personally hate President Obama. I would really like to have the truth, not crazy sounding slogans but your true reason(s). I dare you, go ahead say it, tell the truth so the whole world will know who you really are. Be blessed.

If the naysayers think the Republicans stand for progress for the "little people" -- just wait

Posted by: fairness3 | September 28, 2010 4:12 PM

It's not over 'til its over. The Tea Party has pumped buckets of money into the primaries, which in some cases resulted in unacceptable candidates being put on the ticket. I hope that debates and other forums will help voters find out what these nominees think--and what they have to lose if they are elected. Why do so many people forget that the seeds of the financial mess we are in came out of lack of regulation and control. They forget that the first of the bailouts happened while George W. was still in office--and without them, we would be in a worse mess now, particularly since there have also been a couple of disasters (that required govt. help)in the interim. I'd like things to be better, but don't think that McCain/Palin could have done a better job. Do you?

Posted by: thoughtful-1 | September 28, 2010 4:18 PM

Well, we will just have to see how it turns out, won't we.

Posted by: janye1 | September 28, 2010 4:21 PM

Well...the Republicans just voted to send your middle class jobs overseas for their corporate cronies AGAIN. Anyone who believes that the Republicans care enough about you to even spit on you is deluded. Obama is not a socialist and the more you people spout that crap the more you stupid you look. If Obama can passionately tell the facts without looking like a law professor then he can help pull in the votes. I won't vote because of Obama, I will vote because I don't want the Republicans making the country worse by increasing the deficit by giving our jobs away to India and protecting their corporate buddies so they can create the permanent poor in America...they don't care about you unless you vote for them, and after you do they forget you and tell you it's your fault you don't have a job and you numb-nuts believe them. I can't believe you will vote against your own interests just because a black man runs the country. Just wait you little minded people...you vote the Republicans in and you won't see a job in ten years.

Four years ago, when the Dummycrats were in the minority, everybody was doing great. When the Dummys took The Hill, everything started erroding, until "the great train wreck."

Today the Dummycrats have planned and executed new taxation schemes and ways to tae my earnings and give it to thise who they see as being in need. Guess what, I'd give more to charities, but the charitable deduction for automobiles and other materials, was cut BY THE DUMMYCRATS to the point where I can have a yard sale and just donate the cash, without their "help."

I work for my insurance and most of America who doesn't, ought to get off their duffs and do something about it, not receive a subsidy check for insurance that will not be acceptable in hospitals or with physicians. Doctors in Texas and the nation are already rejecting Medicaid patients and are not enrolling or accepting new Medicare patients.

Obonehead's "O-boo-boo Economics" has done nothing to stop the bleeding. 99'ers are falling off the unemployment rolls, and the jobs created number was bogus.

Simply stated, Obonehead or the Democrats have no CREDIBILITY.

I also blame RINO's who want to get along with these people, instead of standing their ground, in principle. The Bloomberg's, Crists, Scozzfava's, McLame's Lindsey's and the like,we don't need.

The time has come to draw a line in the sand. Either the Tax Receivers have won and this country is ready to drop or the Taxpayer, who has a vested interest, comes out and takes foot to A_R_S_E for some real change, back to the concept of self-reliance and personal responsibility.

I think he can rebound. Otherwise, the choices are bleak. If you are a moderate (as I am) or a minority, you are already excluded from the GOP.

If you are worried about the deficit, neither party is great shakes, but the two presidents in my lifetime who added most to the deficit (more than all the presidents before them combined) were Reagan and GW Bush. The president who did the most to deal with the deficit was Clinton. So while neither party has been great shakes, the Dems have a slightly better record.

And in regard to plumping for the wealthy over the middle class, the GOP wins that hands down.

Posted by: tinyjab40 | September 28, 2010 4:56 PM

We saw the true colors of the GOP this afternoon when they voted in lockstep against keeping jobs in the US.

Yes, you read that right. The GOP wants your job to go to India or Pakistan or China or ANYWHERE but the US! The following Senators up for reelection this fall voted to send your job overseas:

Richard Shelby of Alabama
John McCain of Arizona
Johnny Isakson of Georgia
Mike Crapo of Idaho
Chuck Grassley of Iowa
Jim Bunning of Kentucky
David Vitter of Louisiana
Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
Richard Burr of North Carolina
Tom Coburn of Oklahoma
Jim DeMint of South Carolina
John Thune of South Dakota

These guys just showed how much they care if you lose YOUR job- let's make sure they lose THEIR jobs in November!

Posted by: ancient_mariner | September 28, 2010 5:04 PM

We have a good president with his heart and head in the right place. Some of the comments here are atrocious and display stupidity and ignorance, or just plain downright meanness. Tell me,just what have you done to make this country or world a better place today? Make rude and ridiculous comments about a president who inherited a mess?

Our great Republicans fight anything that could possibly benefit this country and spend their time mouthing a non-stop smear campaign to degrade and defeat any possibility to improve our dire situation. Instead they demand that those upper income who have been the only ones in our economy to benefit economically under Republican policies, continue to get their tax breaks; while the middle class falls further and further behind.

And folks, just wait until they get in control again, with their tea partiers who want no public schools, no healthcare for those in need, and no more social security, no investment in our infra-structure, no environmental or future energy policies, in otherwords no real future. Let's just spend every last penny and I do mean every last, duking it out in no-win wars until we're beyond the total bankruptcy we're in now.

Good luck with our future if you think these guys are going to make progress for the middle income or poor. The middle income will lose, lose and lose some more. The rich will get richer. Corporate incomes will sky-rocket even greater by watered down regulations that will be imposed. But those tea partiers will get consumed by the Republican greed machine who places big business interests above all else, while spewing their anti-government propoganda to the poor people who believe them. I might remind our readers that they, the Republicans, enjoy high earnings, good health insurance and their government pensions are secure. They aren't sacrificing one bit. But you will do without....

Posted by: vicoct1 | September 28, 2010 5:14 PM

Facts have a way of slipping through the cracks when emotions are white hot on either side. For those who are wishing for a Democrat miracle, the facts denote otherwise. For those anxiously awaiting the Republican return to the majority in Congress, think back a few years when they were in control. Get the picture? November will simply be a rerun of an old story. Americans (I'm excluding the rich and powerful, here) have been generally ignored by both Parties. For most of us, November is a lose-lose situation.

Loving the way the Republicans are already taking their victory lap. Folks, look at the vitrol they put on these forums and ask yourself--do these seem like people who will have my interests at heart if they took over the government? If you think yes, then heck, vote their way and be happy about it. You're most likely a selfish, ignorant and rather obnoxious person but it's a free country.

Posted by: AHappyWarrior | September 28, 2010 6:16 PM

Given the premature victory lap the repukes are running, chances are that when November comes and goes, the Dems are going to hold on to both houses. And I am seeing an undercurrent of panic by their reebo base - the comments made here by them get stupider as each day passes.

Campaigning is easy for Obama. He can just read. He can also just whine and attack. No leadership is required.

I never thought that there would ever be a President that would make Jimmy Carter look Presidential. Compared to Obama, Jimmy is just a shorter Lincoln.

Is anybody in America still stupid enough to vote for the same people with the exact same plan that has destroyed America? Yes...President Obama needs to remind the American People how we got here, and that putting the American Taliban (formerly known as Republicans) will be complete disaster and leave America in total ruin.

Yes, he will make a difference. For too long the administration has allowed the Republicants to misrepresent (recall "death panels") and obstruct for the sole purpose of defeating him. He will be able to make that case and remind people of how bankrupt the Republicants are and how unwilling they have been to help solve our nations problems.

Let's continue to move forward with President Obama!

Posted by: rbmorgan | September 28, 2010 7:35 PM

Posted by: liz_s | September 28, 2010 8:00 PM

If this was a republican the media would not write so glowingly of a rebound. They would be in full smear mode. If Obama was criticized like Bush was Obama would be even worse off than he is now. Right now Saturday Night Live, NBC, ABC, the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post have Obama's back. All these leftest organizations are in full campaign mode for November. Their strategy is lie, smear, cheat, and steal while covering for all their scandalous socialists in the Democratic Party.

A few decades ago, before the Age of the Internet, every village, town, and city had its idiots, its drunks, and its muttering crazy people. Everyone knew who they were, and either humored them, ignored them, or stayed out of their way; and in some cases they locked them up for their own safety and the safety of others.

In those days before the advent of the on-line world, these mad mutterers, some of whom spewed racial, political, and other forms of hate, were isolated. Some would regularly call their local newspapers to give editors and reporters "a piece" of their deranged minds, and some would write letters to the editor, which the newspapers usually consigned to the waste basket, where they belonged.

But now we are in the internet age, and every one of those local drunks, those isolated, rage-filled, hate-spewing, and just plain crazy people has access through the keyboard to every other drunk, formerly isolated, rage-filled, hate-spewing, and just plain crazy people. They are no longer isolated; they have been brought together by the internet and by the political preachers of cable television. Now they rally on the mall, and they take over newspaper chats.

Marxist President? Trained by the KGB? The "tax receivers have won?" "Comrade Barry?"

I used to think that the creation of the internet was the single most important non-medical technical innovation of my life-time. But now I really am wondering if by bringing all the village idiots, all the mad ravers together, it is the worst, and will ultimately bring about the downfall of the democratic system that President Abraham Lincoln termed the "last best hope of earth."

I almost wrote that I'd vote for O'bama.
I cannot bring my hands to type, or say that, under any circumstances.
You don't have to stop all offshoring, of jobs.
Simply pick a couple of categories, and ban their import into the US. Let's begin with Plastics, major appliances, and power tools.
I'm willing to pay an American twice as much, for a refrig, or a microwave, to have one "MADE IN AMERICA."

BUT, If you look through all your "stuff" in your household, and if "all your stuff"
says "Made In China,"
YOU'RE part of the problem, as am I.

Campaign promises were made and have been broken. Specifically, I would say the promise of transparency in Government.
If you call the Dems meeting behind closed doors to push through healthcare, promises to specific Senators by Obama of special payments to their states to offset cost, transparent, then you and I have a different opinion of transparent.
The majority of US citizens did then and do now, not want the Government healthcare but Obama, Reid and Pelosi pushed through the agenda.
Oh, yeah, lets overule the electorate in Arizona to get in line or we will take them to court. This administration is doomed!

You people would't know a communist or socialist if you saw one. President Obama is about as middle of the road as one gets (moderate). He is hearing grief from both liberals as well as the right wing nuts who tend to dominate the news (myth of liberal media). The right wing has been good at fixing or buying elections, however they completly suck at running a country. We need to support our commander and chief and he has been performing exceptionally well in spite of the lack of support or cooperation from republicans (obstruction). As a country we need to stop looking at issues from the extremist views and start to examine common ground. The one side takes all mentality will tear the country apart.

Apart from his own considerable gifts and talents, President Obama is also helped by the fact that Republicans have done nothing but stand on the sidelines and obstruct. They have come up with NOTHING in terms of solutions to the huge challenges that face this country. So even if President Obama might have not walked on water like so many wanted him to, the alternative is just not good by any stretch of the imagination.

Posted by: AJBF | September 28, 2010 9:58 PM

President Obama should drive this baby hard.
Talk about how the GOP, which has had the floor for eight or ten years, depending on how much they held Congress, wants to reinforce the most significant shift in wealth to the smallest group of Americans in history, & such policies will further ruin the potential for America.
An America they're about to inherit.
An America skewed to the wealthiest of the wealthy.
An America tainted by extreme right wingers who will work to abolish complete agencies of the government. Who will also work to turn over private investments to the foxes who ate almost all of the chickens before.
Obama should also challenge college educated & other young voters: the Republicans are laughing at our attempts to work with the young, the educated, because they say: your demographic group doesn't care, & won't manage to vote.
But remember, you can vote early, & you can fool them, because they think
you're just not interested in your futures. But I know that is not the case!
Obama needs to use Bill Clinton wherever possible, and he needs to hammer hard on the under 30 group to get out and vote, & vote early, because that way, they can help organize Democratic voters in all 435 congressional districts, as they did in 2008.
He must challenge them to vote early, & then dedicate at least 1 or 2 days to organizing a massive off year election vote.
Just pumping them up, again & again, will be worth his effort. He's a dynamic, inspiring speaker, & the main thing he should say is: if you think the Party of "No" will make you happier if we lose our majority, think again! If you're frustrated because I wasn't able to make things happen quicker, or more efficiently, thank the Republican Party for shattering YOUR dreams. Not just MY dreams.
YOUR DREAMS!

Obama went to the most leftist campus he could find. He had to get a singer, and hold his talk in a breeze way where students had to pass through. The week before he could hardly fill a 650 venue... The guy has lost already. He thinks we are all too stupid and don't read news sources other than ones that put out the party line. We all know what he did to AZ, we know how he took over GM and flaunted bankruptcy law to give GM to the UAW, and stiffing the shareholders. And also Obama taking over GM was not approved by Congress, which such action requires.. I could go on and on.. the health scare scam, the bribing, the closed doors.. the broken promises.. the debt.. the unemployment figures.. the blaming Bush, ..........
We have seen Obama in action, and we want him nuetered..
The US is the laughing stock of the civilized world!

I think you "could be" right.
I don't think the Constitition precludes the participation of all those uncommitted, that is, NOT Committed to Institutions, from being a part of our Government.
In fact, wide use of the Internet, might just save us from our own destruction.
The Historical lifespan of Democracies, has been about 240 years. By that time, the Electorate has discovered that they can vote themselves more and more benefits, from the Nation's Treasury, to the extent that they tend to go bankrupt. Maybe, this mass communication device, can help us, avoid the fate that's befell all History's past Democracies.
If we can just get safely past O'bama.

Barry is out of energy, out of ideas, and soon out of power. Even Emanuel can't do two years in stir. Pelosi is wasted; Reid is a loser; Hoyer wants to raise vegetables in southern Maryland. The Dems are done.

Come on Democrats... the country needs socializin.. y'all given up already? Would Josef Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Marx or Engels give up so easily? Nope. Now come on and get to work comrades. Y'all can't rest until every penny has been redistributed and you have a central committee running every state owned industry...

We saw the true colors of the GOP this afternoon when they voted in lockstep against keeping jobs in the US.
1. Yes, you read that right. The GOP wants your job to go to India or Pakistan or China or ANYWHERE but the US! The following Senators up for reelection this fall voted to send your job overseas:
Richard Shelby of Alabama
John McCain of Arizona
Johnny Isakson of Georgia
Mike Crapo of Idaho
Chuck Grassley of Iowa
Jim Bunning of Kentucky
David Vitter of Louisiana
Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
Richard Burr of North Carolina
Tom Coburn of Oklahoma
Jim DeMint of South Carolina
John Thune of South Dakota
These guys just showed how much they care if you lose YOUR job- let's make sure they lose THEIR jobs in November!

WELL! What’re “you” doing about it?
Are you participating in their assault on our economy?
Or, are you “REFUSING” to purchase most foreign manufactured products?
If not, You’re part of the problem.
If, when you look through all your “stuff” in your household, you find that it’s “all” “made in China” YOU “ARE” THE PROBLEM.
I guarantee you, if you don’t buy foreign manufactured products, “nobody” will out source them, to any other Country.
The BIG question is, are you proposing a solution, or, are you “still” a part of the problem?
Dennis
PS, Most of those Politicians, that you've listed above, are going to win their respective offices, next month. Americans know that O’bama's more dangerous.

The same as my last answer, to a similar question.
What are you doing about it?
If you’re still buying all foreign manufactured products, “YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. ”
I didn’t vote for O’bama. I’d “never” vote for O’bama. I wouldn’t contemplate voting for him, even if he was White.
Talk to some of your Democrat Congressmen. Ask them why they’re fleeing from O’bama?
He’s in Wisconsin to drum up support for Russ Feingold, and the Democrats.
Russ Feingold, is running in panic, to create as much space as he can, between himself and O’bama.
But, back to your major point, what are you, jacquie1 , doing to preserve jobs, in America?

When people step into the voting booth on November 2, they will have had a month of listening to the arguments of the Democrats and the Republicans.

If you're dealing with the real world where progress occurs slowly with bumps along the way -- vote Democrat.

If you deal in fantasy, vote Republican and wish really hard that you'll be better off. The Republicans are going to give you low taxes -- also jobs will be shipped overseas, health care is the nearest emergency room, the infrastructure will continue to disintegrate, big corporations will reap obscebe profits and the little guy will not be able to catch a break.

Remember the old coal miners' song from the 1930s:

Which side are you on, boys?
Which side are you on?

Oh, workers can you stand it?
Oh, tell me how you can
Will you be a lousy scab?
Or will you be a man?

Don't scab for the bosses,
Don't listen to their lies
Poor folks ain't got a chance
Unless they organize.

Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

The Republicans are not on your side, don't be a chump. Vote Democratic.

We've heard the same speech again and again. All Obama is capable of is pontificating. Nice that he fired up the kids who vote but don't pay taxes. And am sure their parents are thrilled that they're paying for their kids health insurance through age 26. This will be Obama's Neverland generation--the kids that never grew up.

So what has Obama accomplished in the last 20 months? A worthless stimulus except for benefiting the Democrats' constituencies. Health and financial legislation that no one bothered to read before passing and signing. The jobless rate and the mortgage foreclosure rates keep rising.

Now that Obama's neck is on the line with the November elections, he's suddenly decided to do the only thing he knows--give rousing speeches.

Give us a break. This guy is a doofus, not a leader and definitely not a president. He's driven this nation into economic and moral bankruptcy.

You can't reverse a Democrat record of 4 years and Obams's 2 years of Crap. Even the leftist media of Collusion can save this motley incompetent group. Americans are waking up.

The republicans HATE americans.

ATTENTION Wapo,

Why NO coverage of Obama's attempts now to put the Patriot Act on steroids to monitor ALL internet, blackberry, all electronic communications? Huh?
The Democrats and the leftist media of collusion were bitchin at Bush for the Patriot Act at a time when the future of America was at stake AND it was rightly passed with A SUNSET PROVISION.
Where are all the bithin media elites and bitchin Democrats NOW? Huh?
