It comes down to heroes
Thoughts from Post columnist Dana Milbank on the Q&A challenge:
Let's do this by process of elimination.
First one out: Nancy. Asked to name a main competitor, three contestants praised Nancy, and she answered: "Sorry, but I really just don't think about it that way." Also, she praised a New York Times columnist, Krugman, twice.
Next out: Lauren. She praised another New York Times columnist, Brooks.
Then I'm afraid Conor must be eliminated for answering back-to-back questions with "Great question" and "Fantastic question" and then later following up with "good follow-up."
That leaves us with my informal pick for winner of this Q&A round, Ted, who had me at "My heroes tend to be the Will Rogers of the world."

GariusRex, I see you and I interpreted Mr. Milbank's post differently.
Thank you for the differing perspective. It's what I like about 'the peanut gallery.'
What would be your thoughtful, judicious critique of the contestants' Q&A efforts? Where in the transcript do you see a "job well done?"

Hey Milbank - I'm sure these contestants are so grateful that you deigned to spend 30 seconds of your precious time commenting on their Q & A.
Real classy with the NYT envy, too. I bet that's one inferiority complex that's hard for you people to get over.
Come on, man. These pundits deserve encouragement for a job well done. They also need thoughtful, judicious critiques of their efforts. All you supply is a lame and ridiculous 30-second stream-of-consciousness.

Mr. Milbank,
You made me laugh. And in the process, you said a lot. Thanks!

I thought they did well in the blogging round and should be congratulated for making it this far and encouraged along the way. As for the Q&A, there were some moments of insight in spite of it being a lame format.
People want pundits who can write. No one cares if they can do an internet Q&A session.
