You have an opinion, but do you have what it takes to be heard?

The Column Challenge

For the first round of the America's Next Great Pundit competition, we asked each of our 10 contestants to write a 750-word opinion column on a topic that's both timely and different from his or her initial entry. Our judges had their say. And then readers issued their verdict. Maame Gyamfi, Kevin Huffman, Courtney Martin, Zeba Khan and Jeremy Huffman move on to round two.

Sarah Palin's second act

Americans love an underdog -- especially one they suspect was treated unfairly. Palin may fit that bill.
