Maybe the greatest fourth quarter ever played, prior to the fourth quarter, too many penalties and no flow

Definitely the best Super Bowl ever. With Kurt Warner's story and the Pittsburgh's 6th title and that last drive. The best hands down.

How soon they forget...How about last year when the New York Giants beat the UNDEFEATED New England Patriots? An epic upset.

You know, this could have been a great game, but the officiating was just so absolutely disgraceful that it marred the game beyond recognition. When you look at how many drives turned on bad call after bad call, it is impossible to sort out who was really the better team. Terrible calls, blown instant replay (no, that was NOT a touchdown after the interception), and the crowning insult of not even bothering to review the final play of the game from the booth. That sure looked like a pass to me.

I guess the circus is a lot more important than the integrity of the game. That officiating crew should be taken out back of the stadium and shot. What a disgrace to the game...

Am I taking crazy pills?!?!

How can 91 COMBINED rushing yards even be considered a GOOD game, much less the best?

Especially compared to 162 yards of penalties! The play of the game was "holding, left tackle."

Also Prince was so much better than the Boss. He had a marching band!!!

maybe an agruement for most exciting but it was a poorly played game- Steelers inside 20 how many times and couldn't get a TD? almost 1/4 of their first downs by penalty? a 100 interception return by a 260 pound linebacker? punks who should have been tossed out giving the NFL a blackeye because of their antics? Penalties out the ying-yang? The last 4 minutes doesn't make up for the earlier slop.

The reason this Super Bowl past the Giants Pats game was that this onne had more lead changes. And MRYETT I send my regrets, Prince sucked compared to the Boss.

Last year's storyline was an undefeated team going for it all on the last drive. The Giants came back under improbable circumstances (ELI MANNING FOR GOODNESS' SAKES!) This year's was great, but one notch below last year's. I wouldn't necessarily call last year's the greatest either. How subjective can this topic be?

People are either too young to remember or there's been too many games to recall. This game was entertaining, but far from the best game. Not even the best SB with the Steelers in it.

Exciting yes, best ever, no. Sloppy game overall with lots of stupid penalties. Good 4th quarter and the 100 yd interception runback was a classic. G-men/Pats was more physical and better football.

Regardless of the eventual decision, the failure to review the Warner pass/fumble in the waning seconds was beyond wrong.

Very good Super Bowl, but it wasn't even the best one of this decade. That honor could be given to either the one-yard short between the Rams and Titans or last year's Super Bowl with 19-0 on the line and the upset.

It was a good Football Game/Boxing Match.

Arizona needs to get its running game together.

I think the super bowl game was great! I am however disturbed that we call our country a christian nation and show commericals verging on porn! This is shameful. I wouldn't want to watch the commericals with my children or grandchildren. This is shameful, sinful and embarassing. We chastise Past Jermiah Wright for saying God Damn America? really, so any of you think with this filth on national tv during a great national past time God will Bless America do ya?

I wish Michael Phelps had come on at half time and had a bong malfunction

No one has even mentioned that Super Bowl between Dallas and Buffalo where Norwood missed the last second field goal.

I'm not saying that one was the best but it was up there.

cash2money Author Profile Page :

Um Charley42, I think you mean the Buffalo Giants game, when Norwood missed wide right. That was 25. Dallas pretty much violated Buffalo twice in a row, 27 and 28. Skins did them nasty in 26. 25 was the close one

No! Okay, I'll elaborate. It's only in second place for the last two years so it can't be the best all time -- NE vs. NY was better.

It was great 4th quarter, but the first 3 were overall nothing special. It took Arizona the entire 1st to realize the Super Bowl was like any other game, and then it took them the entire 3rd quarter to recover from the 100yd TD return. Steelers shoulv'e burried the Cardinals by the 3rd.

Off the top of my mind, last years Giants-Patriots, the Giants-Bills (Norwood), Broncos-Packers, 49ers-Bengals (act 2) were better than this one.

Maybe even the Rams-Patriots was better. Panthers-Patriots had a pretty epic 4th quarter, probably even more so than this one.

Mitchavery7 Author Profile Page :

The BETTER QUESTION is why did the NFL wait so long for the wild card format? The 80's (49ers, Redskins) and 90's (remember the Buffalo bills '91-94') were NOTORIOUS for ALL HYPE and a bad game. Since the Rams beat the Titans in 1999 the Super Bowl has actually lived up to it's name. Last years game had less offense but plenty of drama with 18-0 New England vs NY Giants. What the NFL FINALLY figured out was NOT how to get the best team from the AFC&NFC into the Super Bowl but how to create excitement with a playoff system that allowed teams like the Cardinals (4th seed) and the Eagles (6th seed this year), Pittsburgh in 2005 (They won 4 road games before beating MY SEAHAWKS in the Super Bowl) to BUILD PLAYOFF MOMENTUM AND TAKE THE FANS FROM THOSE CITIES WITH THEM. CONGRATULATIONS to the NFL for only waiting for the 21st century for this.

This year's Super Bowl was the full package of horrible NFL officiating we have come to expect. The game became competitive late and the finish was exciting, but it will not be memorable over time when compared to other Super Bowls. Kudos to the Steelers and their loyal fans for the win.

Really, people--were you all drinking too many beers? On every level, this was a horrible Super Bowl, and doesn't even rank in the top 10, on any level, from any perspective, at any time, from any viewpoint. Has everyone just lost their minds? And for some of these younger sportswriters: Have you even seen many of the older Super Bowls? Do you know what you are even talking about? This Super Bowl was sloppy, unprofessional, questionable, and full of unprofessional behavior, thuggish behavior, a ton of bad, questionable officiating calls, horribly-blown leads, bad playing, stupid penalties, blown leads, blundered goal-line scoring drives, including one returned for a touchdown for 100 yards!, and an ending that featured a questionable touchdown and questionable fumble that, if called correctly, could have given one team the fair chance to come back and win the game after a botched call on a questionable touchdown. That's a classic game, people? It was sloppy, bungled, and unprofessional. And some of the players need to be fined for their thuggish behavior. That's what we want to see? No, it isn't. And there's about 15 other Super Bowls that were far, far better games, and better-played games. And they were games where the athletes involved were professional and acted like grown men.
