T.O. should come to the Redskins. He's an amazing football player. He speaks his mind and plays hard. He does not temper his words, which makes him an easy target for the idiotic media and journalists who have never played a down in their lives. Keep him in the NFC East. Let the drama unfold as the Skins play the Eagles twice and the Cowboys twice. He's a perfect complement to Santana Moss.

MarkAntney Author Profile Page :

Redskins, Giants, Colts, and New England.

In that order.

Away, home, or any other place where we do not have to hear any more about this jerk.

ozpunk Author Profile Page :

I think he will land in Detroit. Sort of trading places with Roy Williams as the complement to Megatron. I think the fans up there would love him since they haven't ever really had to deal with his drama, and perhaps Culpepper could deal with TO like he dealt with Moss and revitalize his career.

inkydog Author Profile Page :

I have been a Redskins fan all of my life, but as God as my witness, if they sign TO I will pack away my burgundy and gold jersey and find another team to follow. My brother just moved to Sarasota and the Tampa stadium has a cool pirate ship, so maybe Tampa Bay.

TO is a disruptive influence and a good, but not great, player who's best playing days are likely behind him. In any event his talent is not worth the disruption and grief he brings to the locker room. Did we learn nothing from the odious Jeff George episode?

Where should he go? The Raiders have always been the Island of Misfit Toys in the NFL. Although I hate to wish him onto anyone, maybe there. But if any team signs Michael Vick, maybe they can get TO as a twofer. Great QB, good receiver, both social pariahs with arguable mental health issues-- could be a good fit.

blatfish Author Profile Page :

I don't care where he goes. He should go anywhere that will still tolerate him, so long as it's not here in Washington.

We need a team player, not a narcissistic superstar mouthpiece with a $100M contract. He is a great athlete, but this doesn't make him a great player. His physical ability is more that outweighed by his ability to poison team chemistry. He has shown this time and time again.

LegallyMurphy Author Profile Page :

He would be just what the REd Skins are looking for. He's over priced, over the hill, and an over the top distraction.

mjwies11 Author Profile Page :

He should crawl back under the rock he came on. Go away T.O. He has never won anything and is a cancer. His shtick is as old as he is. And for a guy to be in such shape at 37 - it just screams STEROIDS.

Meepo Author Profile Page :

See? Now that we've signed one over-the-hill player for 100 million, we're going to have to sign 52 more over-the-hill players.

Let's make Terrell Owens a Redskin. What the heck. Is he going to PREVENT this team from winning a Stupor Bowl? I think the offensive and defensive lines have that handled, thanks to The Daniel Snyder and The Vinny Cerrato.

What the heck does it matter? It's not like we're building a franchise or anything.

Would you retire from you multi million dollar job because the sports writers and fans dont like you? Boy Mohammad Ali would have never existed based on being a loudmouth that irks fans and enemies alike. ESPN would be very sad if T.O retired. They have only been covering his life like a reality show since philly. If he retires who will people like you have to hate in the sports media?

What is w/all the hate? Why is it that those who are free to express their thoughts and opinions (like all ofyou that have commented) are free to trash this man, yet, you condemn him because that is who he is? Does he talk alot? yes. But what does that have to do w/his talent? When he is given the opportunity and has team mates/coahes that support him AND do their part in the games- he is good at what he does. One person cannot win a superbowl. the TEAMS lose, not just one player or one coach. What makes you more angry? That he speaks his mind or that you think only you have that right? Enough w/trashing him. If you don't love the game and have enough respect for it- then just stay quiet. All of your comments are just hateful. How do you justify that?

T.O. should/will be a dirty birdy. #1: He claims the ATL as home #2 He's only 150 miles away from his real hometown in Alabama. #3 Roddy White and T.O. makes sense; plus Matt Ryan can get the ball to him no matter where he is on the field.

chopin224 Author Profile Page :

To pgarcia:
I think hate is too strong a word. Despise might me more accurate. You ask why? HE criticized his first QB and claimed he was gay. He treated Donovan McNabb like dirt while Donovan is one of the classiest guys in the game. Yes TEAMS win super bowls and that is part of the problem, TO doesn't realize this fact. He will tell you to your face how much he likes you and supports you then stab you in the back. Don't cry for TO. He got a $12 million bonus for signing his last contract so he will not soon appear in soup lines.

AlanGoldberg54 Author Profile Page :

Raiders are the perfect team for T.O.

Al Davis loves these guys.

It's too bad Owens is such a brat. He's one of the greatest wide receivers ever. Look at the difference between him and Jerry Rice.

Rice simply played with relatively little complaint and has three Super Bowl rings.

T.O. has a need to attack his own teammates and coaching staff.

thomasw30 Author Profile Page :

There is something likeable about the TO persona he created.. He's like a big kid and he plays a kid's game. He plays it well, very well.

The problem with him coming to Washington, and I wouldn't want to see that, is he'll never get the ball. He'll never get the ball because Campbell will be on his back.

The Redskins need grunts in the trenches. Linemen.

So Godspeed TO, you're excellent entertainment and a heck of a ballplayer.

Redskins, say "NO" to T.O., pleez!!!!

bkhoward Author Profile Page :

Don't tell anyone because it's illegal, but I think the owners should go into collusion mode and agree not to sign him to any team. Make him wait until Vick, Pac-Man, Mandrich, Bosworth, and OJ can come back into the league.

DCScribe1 Author Profile Page :

No team should go after T.O. They've all seen the movie series from prequel to sequel and everyone knows how it ends. From fears to jeers to tears (see Photo above). Now some NFL club or organization may pursue Terrell, see Oakland Raiders, Cinncinati Bungles, Washington Deadskins. But I repeat no NFL team (Steelers, Patroits, NY Giants) should waste the time, money, stress, emotional wherewithal or team image, required to appease Owens for a year or two. Just ask Romo, McNabb, or Garcia. He's a Quarterback and team slayer. Plus he loves him some him entirely too much!

markeig Author Profile Page :

Owens is 'damaged goods' because of his ability to cause bad blood in the locker room. So for me, it all depends on the price. I would consider signing him if the deal could be canceled by the coach without cause. I doubt he would touch the offer and that's fine too.

maurban Author Profile Page :

I simply cannot believe I am saying this! I kinda wish he would come here to the Giants with a one year contract. We could use him to replace Buress. The NYC media will keep him humbled...he'll be mocked endlessly, even when we're winning.

Someone who is so self centered doesn't understand the concept of a team. I heard a rumor that a local TV station in Dallas wanted to put a 'helmet cam' on TO during a pre-season practice. TO said fine, as long as the camera was turned around and pointing at him.

TO is more suited to working at 7-11.

ketz87 Author Profile Page :

T.O. would be a perfect fit for the Skins, and I don't necessarily mean that in a good way. He's fast, he's brash, he's obnoxious, he's overpaid; in other words, he should fit right in here. On the plus side, what harm could he do? It's not like the Skins have chemistry, character, or a rational rebuilding program. If you were a rich owner who enjoyed nothing more in life
than the buzz you got from hanging around your celebrity-players, why wouldn't you sign T.O.? It would create a nationwide sensation, and you would get to bask in the media spotlight that you crave. And if it didn't work out, so what? You could just raise ticket prices, again...

Wouldn't it be neat if all the owners got together and universally agreed to offer TO $100,000 a year, that's it. Add the conditions that he not be allowed to showboat and drag the sport of football into the sewer and keep his mouth shut - period. This would be perceived by the fans that even the owners are tired of his mouth. Granted, he is a great player, but enough is enough.

this is so easy, and GUARANTEED, TO will be a giant, Plax is going to jail, they need a high level talent to take his place, and they are used to having a head job in that position.

ratsmoker Author Profile Page :

Redskins are a no-class organization, as class starts with owner, and has none. (Too many stories to back up that claim, but one of the best is the pretzel incident a few years ago.) T.O. should come to Washington so the owner can sell more merchandise/concessions and make more money, which is his primary goal. A super is not the owner's goal. The fans are nothing more than sheep following this pied piper down the path of mediocrity.

pooh8911 Author Profile Page :

If the Redskins sign this jerk, I am done with them. I will find another team to support. I would hope that they would learn from the last fiasco when they signed Dionne Sanders who clearly took them to the cleaners.

tgdoubleu Author Profile Page :

It truly baffles me how individuals that know nothing about the game, but has chosen a team to hoot and holla over knows everything about professional football and the temperment of every player that plays in the league.

Before I state my opinion about T.O., all I will say is remember Randy Moss. You same people talking foolishness about T.O. had the same foolishness to say about Randy when he was with the Vikings. You listen to the media, in which if the media focused on you they could probably bring a case up, and that is what you believe. It always 2 sides to a story no matter the story or how many times it happens. Yeah, I know, I get tired of it too, but that's the card the media play, and you fall right into it. Just imagine this, all of the individuals on this board shooting ugly, rude and disrespectful shots at T.O., if you can do this to some one you don't know personally, I can only imagine what you would say or do to people you actually know. Should these people you actually know wish you to hell?

I am not a die hard Redskin fan, what that mean is, depending on who they are playing will dictate who I choose in that game. I do not dislike them. but like Thomas from an earlier post stated, if the Redskins did pick up T.O., which I to feel would be a great deterence for Santa Moss, they will never get the ball to him because of the weak offensive line. Jason Campbell will stay on the ground. That should be the focus and not T.O.

If the Redskins took T.O., it wouldn't bother me. I think T.O. has a lot left in him and maybe, just maybe, his desire will rub off on some of the other under achievers on the Redskins roster. And for all that believes money changes character or should, people are still people. Some people, probably on this blog probably feel T.O. get paid all of this money and he should be a certain way because you feel he should be a certain way. I doesn't work like that! people use all sort of gimmicks to get up for a game.

In any event, T.O. should go to any team that wants him and respects his talents as a great wide receiver in the National Football League. Especially to a team that has a chance to win it all and could truly use his talents. I don't believe in the media and I don't think the guy is as bad as they try and portray him. Remember, anything out of the norm in your or their world is considered a henderance. The world does not revolve around you or the media. If it did, the guy would have been out of the league a while ago.

As a lifelong Redskins fan, I would probably concentrate on rooting for my AFC favorite team while he was with the team. The guy is clown shoes.

The NY-Giants or the Washington Redskins are the most logical choices for Mr. Owens services, he'll fit in nicely in either venue. Mr. Snyder likes the attention, and throwing away money on opportunities good sense can't buy. The Wellington family [in N.Y.], who, in their mind, thinks their entitled to every Superbowl championship known to mankind, are a couple of fine candidates. In any event, whomever of the remaining teams in the NFC-east who [he] has not played for, decides to enlist Mr. Owens services, that gives the rest of the division a leg-up. Think about it. No teams has won anything significant while Mr. Owens has sat on the sidelines brooding over money or playing-time, or lack-there-of. Go ahead, walk-up onto the gallows and place the noose around your neck and sign the Owens contract as you grab-hold the trap-door with the other. Go ahead, I dare you.

If you want to be an "also-ran", sign him, Dan. Your "Waterloo" is around the bend, Wellingtons....

ANTGA Author Profile Page :

He should just go away... he's not going to help any team in the long run. Think about it, there's always a honeymoon period with each team he has played for... a year of showing how everyone gets along, smiles, etc. Then when a team struggles - and every team inevitably struggles - he chirps at the QB or others on offense and demands the ball, claiming that's the solution to the teams woes. Basically, he thinks he knows how the offense should be run... not those nutty, brain-dead coaches who think they know it all. And the QB? What does he know? And to stress his point that "T.O. knows winning," he solicits players on both side of the ball to side with the T.O. camp. He's a cancer not because he's a bad guy, but because he's convinced he knows how to win and the owner, GM, coaches or other players just don't get it.

So, if teams want ONE decent year of football with team cohesion and they don't mind the divisiveness, disruption and problems lurking after that first year, go ahead... sign him. Jerry Jones, an eccentric, egotistical man who thinks he's omniscient made the mistake of signing T.O. Others should learn from Jerry's poor decision!

We are trying to get our organization straight, we just don't need anybody elses problems, right now.

jennifermcbride Author Profile Page :

The Redskins make the most sense - desperately need a #1 receiver to take the load off of Portis. T.O. is still physical enough to beat corners when he wants to and he will get to play the Eagles and Cowboys 4 times - there are 4 guaranteed good games against teams which the Skins desperately need to beat to get into the playoffs. I would rather have T.O. than 'Let Me Take At Least 4 Games Off' Haynesworth at $100 mill.

TO should buy a house filled with mirrors and spend his days admiring himself. Any team dumb enough to sign this narcissist will get one good season followed by dissension, strife and the end of team unity. Maybe they could just get a team of cloned TO's. That might work, but then again given his history, they'd all spend their time complaining about each other.

ANTGA Author Profile Page :

The Redskins will not win the superbowl as long as a poor decision maker like Snyder runs that team... As with Dallas and Oakland, teams with megalomaniac owners drunk with their business success will not be contenders. Jerry Jones is lucky he has superbowls... he stepped in you-know-what when he got to Dallas with all that talent at the players' level and the coaching level. But he's showing his football savvy now - much like Al Davis and Snyder are.

T.O. and agent Drew Rosenhaus were allegedly there at 7AM. This is obviously third-hand information and hard to verify, but it's interesting nonetheless. Though the Nashville Tennessean has reported otherwise, ESPN's Chris Mortensen has hinted the Titans are one of the few teams that might consider pursuing Owens.

Honestly, lets toss out all the teams that are being speculated right now. TO wont be going to the Skins, Ravens or Jets. TO wants a SuperBowl ring more than anything at this point, more or less to only fuel his ego even more. He also wants to prove all the other teams that kicked him to the curb wrong. So guess where he is going? New England better be ready for this guy. T.O. has always been jealous of Moss and how he turned himself around and was able to join a team and win a SuperBowl. The Pats will up a good amount of dough for him. Sure less than others but I honestly believe TO is going to be looking for that ring this time, instead of just the dollar signs........i know that sounds so unlike him, but really its all about his ego still and getting that ring will make his head so much more bigger than it already is.
