Who's the Most Coveted "Retired" Coach?

Mike Holmgren is making overtures, but would you take him over Bill Cowher, Mike Shanahan or one of the other hot emeritus play callers?

Absolutely Bill Cower - year in and year out solid.

Bring back George Allen! Sure he never won like Joe Gibbs, but the Redskins were fun. We've the same record now and the Redskins aren't fun.

ZERO ... count 'em ZERO Head Coaches who have won Super Bowls on two different teams. Recently Holmgren had a shot to be the first. I would love to have him in a GM role but I like Zorn.

Bring back Buddy Ryan! At least his teams were interesting to watch.

If you're talking about men who coached in the 2000's the group is limited. I like Vermeil's list. If we keep going back Noll and Bill Walsh and if we are talking about the greatest of all time Vince Lombardi - the best that ever graced the gridiron - if we would have had the opportunity to coach in compete for five super bowls he would have won 4 or 5 of them. He was that good!

What about Tony Dungy? Sure, he just retired, but he reformed the Bucs and built the Colts back up with the Tampa 2 AND he's a good guy with a lot of influence... the NFL needs an image makeover.

Cowher, no question. Every year under him, small-market Pgh lost 4-5 stars to free agency, yet reloaded and dominated their division and goes deep into the playoffs. Somebody must have been teaching somebody how to play.
