Did the Bennett brothers, Martellus and Michael, cross the line when they posted their "ethnic humor" video on YouTube? (Video not suitable for all audiences)
ivoryjay: I'm more offended by black on black violence than a poor attempt at humor....
Whutever: I have no problem with a black person making these type of jokes. I thought the video was soooo stupid I had to laugh at it. But I want to...

The video itself may be offensive due to its stupidity -- but it does raise an interesting tangential question. Given the number of "Black This" and "Hispanic That" organizations and competitions, has the time come for us to end such segregation and instead focus on being that which is most important -- AMERICANS.

Yes, it's a stupid video. No, it was not funny. But as a black person, am I offended? Not really, because they do not speak for me. I would hope that most of America realizes that this is a bunch of nitwits making a stupid video...Just like I don't assume when I'm channel surfing and catch something on cable about Red Neck weddings, that ALL white people like NASCAR and Budweiser, I would think that people would realize that ALL black people are not idiots.

What I notice is that there are very few people of pure black color. I see a lot of browns, tans light and dark, and caramel color. I mean, go to Lowes, pick up a black paint chip, go to the rest room, and hold it up to your face. More likely than not, you are not black.
Same with whites. Very few white people out there.

Anyone can post anything on YouTube. I haven't watched the video, hadnt even heard of it until I ran across this story. Don't plan on watching it as most of the stuff on Youtube is retarded and that's what you get with something as open ended as You Tube, the idiots just come out of the woodwork. Do not forget we live in an age where Jackass is entertainment.

Not having seen the video and I don't see any links to the video here, I can't make a comment either way.

O.J. Simpson did not cross the line with the majority of black Americans, and we're asking if these two guys joking around crossed it?
Tiger Woods who is half Asian descent and less than a quarter African is called African-American.
We call football "soccer", and the game we call football is played carrying the ball with your hands.
Americans are the joke.

I always hear blacks whining about how they are not included in society. Which is patently untrue. Most folks take others for how they act, interact, and speak to others. I will bet that all of these folks pushing this are Democrats. They all have a stake in divisiveness even as they speak of tolerance. If everyone got along in our post-racial Obamaworld, these guys would be out of a job. I am proud to be a conservative Republican that judges others the same way that Republican MLK did. By the content of their character. What a novel concept that is, huh?

I don't get it. Why is this worthy of a whole discussion on WP? Comedians say more racially offensive things every day on live TV. So what?

I guess Chris Rock is out of a job....

If we want racisim to stop we must first stop ourselves, from saying the things that can influnce the generation ahead of us. The only way to exterminate racisim is to never mention it even in humor!

I have no problem with a black person making these type of jokes. I thought the video was soooo stupid I had to laugh at it. But I want to comment about the right-ups on this video. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but to put your PERSONAL opinion out for everyone to see and belittle someone with your comment, now THAT'S NOT FUNNY. Just a thought.
PEACE & BLESSINGS!!!
