THE QUESTION

Did the Giants Overpay?

New York signed quarterback Eli Manning to a seven-year $106.9 million deal, but did the Giants pay too much?

FROM THE PANEL

Eli So Not Worth It

The Giants would have renewed his contract in the spring if not now, they could have saved themselves a few dollars by waiting.

Giants Could Have Done Worse

The Giants have decided that, in these uncertain times, Eli is their top-half guy. They could do worse.

Giants Had to Overpay

There's no way, under any circumstance, by any stretch of the imagination that Eli should be the highest paid player in the NFL, the highest paid at his position, or even the highest paid at his own family reunion.

Well Deserved Pay Raise

Eli Manning is as valuable to the Giants organization as his brother is to the Colts. He deserves every bit of the $35M guaranteed money the Giants will pay him.

Capping Eli's Mega Deal

It's definitely a lucrative deal, but it may not necessarily be the market setting contract that it's being made out to be.

Eli: Between Average and Elite

Is he worth more than Tom Brady or his own brother? Absolutely not, but that isn't the realistic question. Eli Manning simply got what the market will bear.

Worth Super Money

Eli is a great quarterback who has proven he is capable of performing in the clutch on the biggest stage.

Eli's Giant Pay Day

Eli is the right quarterback for the New York Giants for the next seven years. That makes me happy, regardless of his paycheck.

Eli Over Burdened

If he remains on the precipice of greatness, where he currently resides, all he'll be is yet another big ticket item that didn't nearly deliver up to what was expected of him.

Guilty of Stupidity?

Should he play in the NFL again? Who knows? Right now, Burress must use every bit of his famed escapability to try and squirm out of a defensive formation he's never seen before.
