.....Because those are the two suckiest cites in the US. We give thanks we don't live in those places.

Palmer said that the Cowpokes play on Thanksgiving because Schramm wanted to for more exposure but I can't seem to find out why the Lions always play on that day.

Because it is a tradition. It is not a game to decide any championship; the event being celebrated is a holiday, Thanksgiving. Do we determine that Army and Navy shouldn't play if one of them or both has a poor season? In a nation with few traditions, let's keep one. Besides, who would watch the Lions if they had an option?

Here is a link to the history of the "Holiday Classic:" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_Classic. It seems the reason for the Lions originally being in the game is the same as the Cowboys: marketing. Don't you just love capitalism.

Detroit I can live without, but since my sons were little kids, we've always enjoyed rooting for whoever's playing Dallas, hoping the Cowchumps take a beating on their home field. And if our Redskins deliver it, so much the better.

This is an easy matter to resolve.

The Dallas Cowboys are America's Team. They are revered and loved worldwide.

No one can touch the Dallas Cowboys and the Redskins are bootlicks compared to those high intensity dudes in Dallas.

End of discussion.

Because it was God's will that the Cowboys play. It is the American way.

While the Lions are not a good team, as the writer says, the Cowboys are.
JLHare must be having a tough time, seeing as the Cowboys lead the series by roughly two to one W-L and have won another one again this season.

The Dallas Cowboys record for Thanksgiving Day games are 26-14-1 which is a 65% clip. So no one is beating them at home that much and the only thing the Deadskins can deliver to Dallas is... actually nothing! How 'Bout Dem Cowboys!

oNE ONLY HAS TO LOOK AT THE gIANTS OWNER THIS WEEK TO SEE WHY WE HAVE WHAT WE HAVE!!The COWBOY'S ARE THE BEST!! THE LIONS AND THE BOY'S TOOK A CHANCE BACK IN THE DAY WHEN NOBODY ELSE HAD THE FORESIGHT TO SEE THE FUTURE, SO NOW THAT IT IS WHAT IT IS, AND WHAT THE BOY'S HAVE MADE IT NOW YOU WANNA JUMP INTO THE GRAVY!! HUH!! SOUNDS LIKE A PROGRESSIVE POINT OF VIEW TO ME!!MAYBE YOU ALL CAN PASS SOME LEGISLATION TO MAKE THE OTHER TEAMS DO WHAT YOU WANT THEM TOO. PLEASE NO!!

Cowboys and Lions had the game when no one wanted it. They took the chance, they should take the rewards. The third Thxgiving game they've put in the last few years allows other teams a shot, that's good enough.

Tradition. Detroit has had a Thanksgiving Day game since 1934.

What's your problem ??

There's a game today?

Were I an NFL head coach forced to prepare my team for a game on 4 days rest, a matchup against the Lions would truly be cause for giving thanks.

I belief God comes before football. Forcing players to go to work on America's biggest holiday is just wrong. It is a day we should spend with your family. NFL is selling itself to the almighty dollar.

It's the NFL's version of the BCS. As below, so above.

Must. Resist. Temptation. To Reply.

Stop hating!! Stop asking the same question every year. Its tradition. The NFL gave ya'll another game to watch for real who's really watching it? The Giants just got whooped! LOL! Its not gonna change.
