THE QUESTION

Who should coach The Dallas Cowboys?

Does Wade Phillips deserve to keep his job or should Jerry Jones have made a change?

Have never been a head coach but it would appear that the coaching staff can do so much. It is up to the players to execute. Cowboys got to the playoff and lost their second game. A team will win and one will lose. I say give Phillips another year. If no progress give him the boot. Redskins booted Norv Turner early and look what he has done with the Chargers.

I suppose it happens because the Cowboys are the most popular team in the NFL, but it is somewhat amusing to read that some are questioning Dallas' bringing Wade Phillips back next season. The loss to Minnesota was disheartening, but the season as a whole was a success. The Cowboys made strides and have a relatively young and talented team that should be in the mix for a Super Bowl run next season. Perhaps questions should be addressed regarding other coaches who were clearly out-performed by Phillips this year. After watching the Eagles get dismantled by the Cowboys two weeks in a row, should Philadelphia have regrets over extending the contract of Reid, a coach who has had some success but has never been able to get his team over the top? Does the disgraceful way the New York Giants collapsed over the last part of the year mean that the Giants should have questions about Tom Couglin? And when a Super Bowl champion team fails to make the playoffs and loses to bottom feeders like Cleveland, Kansas City and Oakland, shouldn't the coaching job done by Mike Tomlin be scrutinized. To be fair to Coughlin and Tomlin they both have rings and may deserve the benefit of the doubt, but the point is that examining whether Phillips should be brought back shouldn't be the only coach-related issue discussed at this time.
