Bench Point Blues: Week 1

The fantasy football world needs a community where players can lament how many points they left on the bench over the most recent weekend of games. Consider this your new home for just that type of commiseration.

Each Monday at Fantasy Check, join an open forum for you to air your gripes about which players you should have started. We may even cull the most hard-luck fantasy players at the end of the season and list the winners, if you want to call it that.

Here's a handful for starters, each of whom I left on my bench in various leagues.

Willis McGahee: 75 total yards, two touchdowns (good for 19 points in standard CBSSports league)

Cadillac Williams: 97 rushing yards, one touchdown (15 points)

Jamal Lewis: 104 total yards (nine points)

Had I started any combination of those three players at running back, it would have dwarfed the production I didn't get from Ronnie Brown and Larry Johnson. Talk about dog performances.

Okay, it's your turn. Which players did you mistakenly leave on your bench?

I won my matchup this week despite leaving 92 points on the bench. My biggest bench riders were W. McGahee and Hightower.
