Fantasy Check

Early Sleepers

FFToolbox is among the first sites to post its list of sleepers for Week 2. No suprise Matt Hasselbeck and Fred Jackson are high on that list, given their performances on Sunday and their favorable matchups coming up.

Hasselbeck and Seattle play at San Francisco, which gave up 288 passing yards to Arizona on opening day. While Hasselbeck may not post 279 yards and three touchdowns as he did against St. Louis in Week 1, he's still a fine play.

Jackson and the Bills host Tampa Bay, which as a sleeper running back of its own in Carnell Williams. First the Bucs made the surprising announcement Williams would be No.1 on the depth chart, and then Cadillac validated the move with 97 yards and a touchdown against Dallas.

Toolbox's top sleeper is Brett Favre, who had a forgettable debut with the Vikings. He completed 14 of 21 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown while handing off to Adrian Peterson in a victory over Cleveland.

Favre has an excellent matchup against the Lions, who yielded 350 yards and six touchdowns to Drew Brees in Week 1.

"While Favre will not come close to matching Brees' great numbers from week one, he should be able to top 200 yards and throw at least on touchdown in Detroit," according to Toolbox.
