PvP: Week 5 Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning continues to roll, and he surpassed even the highest projections in the Colts' 28-9 victory over Tennessee on Sunday night. Clearly it was a great week for the top quarterbacks overall, as all but Joe Flacco and David Garrard exceeded projections.

Here's the top 10 projected quarterbacks for Week 5, according to our friends at Fantasy Football Nerd, and their actual scoring:

1. Manning: 21.9 projected points/30 actual points
2. Matt Schaub: 20.5/26
3. Ben Roethlisberger: 18.8/29
4. Kurt Warner: 18.1/24
5. Donovan McNabb: 17.7/31
6. Joe Flacco: 16.9/13
7. David Garrard: 16.6/7
8. Tony Romo: 15.7/26
9. Tom Brady: 15.2/20
10. Brett Favre: 14.6/15

Matt Hasselbeck was the overachiever of the week. In his first game back from injury, Hasselbeck was projected for 13.4 points and accounted for 35, throwing four touchdowns in a 41-0 victory over Jacksonville.

Garrard was the underachiever of the week, failing to reach double figures in fantasy points. He threw for 188 yards and no touchdowns one week after accounting for 33 points with 323 yards and three touchdowns.

What about Matt Ryan? Fantasy Football nerd predicted 13.2 and he scored 29, more than double. He saved my team this week.

Thank you Hasselbeck. I have Brees as my #1 QB, and Hasselbeck as my backup. With Brees on bye this week, Hasselbeck single-handed led me to the win column this week. I also have T. J. Housh on my team, who caught 2 TDs courtesy of Hasselbeck.
