PvP: Week 11 quarterbacks

The top 10 projected quarterbacks generally did not disappoint, but the most stunning fantasy development at the position this week was Matthew Stafford and Brady Quinn combining for nine touchdowns.

First here's how Fantasy Football Nerd's top 10 projected quarterbacks did:

1. Drew Brees: 21.5 projected points/25 actual points
2. Ben Roethlisberger: 21.1/33
3. Aaron Rodgers: 21.1/26
4. Peyton Manning: 20.5/17
5. Kurt Warner: 20.5/20
6. Tom Brady: 20/18
7. Brett Favre: 19.6/32
8. Matt Schaub: 19.5/TBD
9. Donovan McNabb: 17.9/21
10. Philip Rivers: 17.5/11

But back to Stafford and Quinn, who faced one another in one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. After Cleveland raced to a 24-3 lead, Stafford led the Lions back to a 38-37 win as time expired.

Stafford finished with 422 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winner while nursing an ailing left shoulder. Stafford's performance netted owners 46 points, well above his 12.3 projection.

Quinn, meantime, had 304 yards and four touchdowns. His 36 points far exceeded his projection of 10.

While the game was fun to watch for Stafford owners, unless you were really desperate, you weren't starting Quinn, so his performance essentially went to waste.

Fantasy owners probably won't be racing to add Quinn to their rosters either, given how bad he looked prior to Sunday. Consider Quinn's performance a complete anomaly.

As CBSSports.com's Dave Richard wrote in his First Response: "Owners will be quick to dismiss Quinn's big outing, especially with the Bengals next on the schedule."

Good advice all around.
