PvP: Week 12 running backs

In a first this season, all the projected top 10 running backs underperformed, although Chris Johnson missed his projection by one-tenth of a point.

Here are projection vs. production results for Week 12, with thanks to Fantasy Football Nerd for assembling the aggregate list:

1. Johnson: 24.1/24
2. Adrian Peterson: 19.3/15
3. Ricky Williams: 18.6/17
4. Maurice Jones-Drew: 18.2/10
5. DeAngelo Williams: 18/5
6. Steven Jackson: 16.8/16
7. Ray Rice: 16.4/14
8. Thomas Jones: 16.1/14
9. Frank Gore: 15.8/10
10. Ryan Grant: 14.8/10

The biggest overachiever was Fred Jackson, who was projected for 7.6 points but amassed 23. Also greatly exceeding his projection was Justin Forsett, whose PvP was 12/25.

The fantasy value of Jackson is higher than Forsett at this point.

Jackson got a vote of confidence from Buffalo interim coach Perry Fewell, who said he had a gut feeling Jackson should start this week. Jackson made Fewell look good for making the decision by amassing 116 yards from scrimmage and scoring two touchdowns on 20 touches.

Forsett, meantime, ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns in Seattle's 27-17 victory over St. Louis. Unfortunately for Forsett owners, Julius Jones is due back next week and figures to take back the starting job.
