PvP: Week 14 quarterbacks

After three weeks of underachieving, consensus No. 1 pick Adrian Peterson finally had the type of performance owners have been expecting all season.

Here's the top 10 projection vs. performance list for running backs in Week 14, with the projections courtesy of Fantasy Football Nerd.

1. Chris Johnson: 24.5 projected points/35 points scored
2. Ray Rice: 17.8/27
3. Maurice Jones-Drew: 17.5/13
4. Adrian Peterson: 16.1/25
5. Rashard Mendenhall: 15.7/6
6. Jamaal Charles: 15.5/23
7. Steven Jackson: 15.4/4
8. Ricky Williams: 15.2/16
9. Thomas Jones: 14.5/21
10. Joseph Addai: 14.2/10

Some overachievers other than Peterson included Ryan Grant (12.5/25), Reggie Bush (7.9/19) and Quinton Ganther (10.3/17).

All three have difficult matchups this week, especially Grant, who faces the Steelers' top-ranked run defense. Bush, meantime, draws the Cowbooys, who rank eighth against the run, and Ganther gets the Giants, who are ninth.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment was Mendenhall, who appeared to have one of the best matchups of the week against Cleveland, which is giving up 148 yards rushing per game. Mendenhall ran for 53 yards, and the Steelers looked horrible in a 13-6 loss.

Other underachievers included LeSean McCoy (10.3/4), who was barely a factor in a game in which the Eagles and Giants amassed 45 points and 372 yards, and Darren Sproles (6.8/2).
