How Much Time Will Burress Serve?

As NFL News Feed is reporting, New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress is scheduled to be in court this morning.

Burress faces weapon possession charges and a possible jail sentence of 3-1/2 to 15 years in connection with the November incident in which he shot himself in the leg at a New York nightclub.

ESPN is reporting that the trail will be postponed to June 15th in the hopes of negotiating a plea bargain, but it is unlikely that such a deal wouldn't include jail time for Burress.

So the question for you NFL Crime Watch readers, how much time will Burress serve?

With all his money and well connected legal team, I doubt he'll serve any time. Money and influence overcome pesky laws and sentencing guidelines--it's like magic!

1 year probation and time served. The NFL will make him take anger management classes and lecture 4th graders on responsible gun ownership.

Plax is trouble. The Gints need to get rid of him while there is still time to get something in return. He'd fit in nicely with Dallas.
