D. Branch Could Be in Seattle's Lineup
The Seattle Seahawks are leaving open the possibility of wide receiver Deion Branch playing in Sunday's season opener in Buffalo.
Branch is seven months removed from knee surgery and isn't even practicing fully yet. But the Seahawks are shorthanded at receiver, with the unproven Courtney Taylor set to start at the wideout spot opposite Nate Burleson if Branch is unable to play against the Bills. Bobby Engram is sidelined by a shoulder injury.
The Seahawks plan to have Branch test his knee in practice late this week and then make a decision about his availability for Sunday's game.
