Jets Add J. Feely to Kick

Kicker Jay Feely agreed to a contract with the New York Jets today.

The Jets auditioned Feely and fellow kickers Aaron Elling and Dave Rayner today.

Feely connected on 21 of 23 field goal attempts for the Miami Dolphins last season but has been released by two teams, the Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs, since the beginning of training camp.

His stay with the Chiefs lasted only one day, and his tenure with the Jets could be brief as well. The Jets likely will keep two kickers, Feely and Mike Nugent, on the roster until Nugent his healthy, and then Feely could be cut. Nugent was hurt during Sunday's season-opening win at Miami and Feely could kick this weekend against the New England Patriots at Giants Stadium.
