Ravens Put Boller on IR List, Add Bouman
The Baltimore Ravens placed quarterback Kyle Boller on the season-ending injured reserve list today.
They also signed free agent quarterback Todd Bouman to back up rookie starter Joe Flacco.
Boller has a shoulder injury that reportedly could be either a torn labrum or a biceps injury. He had been putting off a decision about whether to undergo surgery or try to play this season with the injury but it wasn't improving with treatment.
Today's move could end Boller's tenure with the team. The former first-round draft choice is in the final season of his contract.
The Ravens signed Bouman to join Flacco, a first-round pick in April's NFL draft who's slated to start Sunday's season opener, and Troy Smith on the roster. Bouman worked out for team officials Monday along with fellow free agent quarterbacks Joey Harrington and Chris Simms. The Ravens also have Casey Bramlet on the practice squad.
