Allen Fined, Not Suspended
The NFL has fined Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen $25,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during a game 10 days ago.
Vikings Coach Brad Childress announced the league's punishment today.
Allen met with league officials Tuesday at the NFL's offices in New York.
He previously had been fined $50,000 for a pair of low hits on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub during a Nov. 2 game in which Schaub suffered a knee injury that has kept him sidelined since then.
There had been speculation that Allen might be facing a possible suspension this time, but the league determined that wasn't merited.
