Felix Jones Done For Season

The Dallas Cowboys have lost rookie tailback Felix Jones for the remainder of the season.

According to an NFL source, the Cowboys will place Jones on the season-ending injured reserve list because of a torn ligament in his toe that will require surgery.

Jones had been sidelined by a hamstring injury but the Cowboys had been hoping for the first-round draft selection in April to return as a speedy backup to top tailback Marion Barber.

Jones played in six games this season and ran for 266 yards and three touchdowns on only 30 carries. He averaged 8.9 yards per carry.

He also scored a touchdown on a kickoff return.

We didnt use him all that much anyways when he was healthy. Everytime we did though he'd get hughe chunks of yardage or score long touchdowns.

That is a great loss considering how the Cowboys were counting on him for the tough, tough December run. I hope he heals well and we will see him next season.

that is a shame. he is a gifted athlete that gave the Cowboys a speed threat and perfect compliment to Barber. Fans had anticipated seeing him get more touches after the hamstring injury healed.
