'Hey, Throw a Pick'
Jets quarterback Brett Favre revealed on the NFL Network's postgame show that he and Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss had an amusing on-field exchange before the overtime coin toss last night.
Favre to Moss: "Hey, great job, Randy."
Moss to Favre: "Hey, throw a pick."
Favre said on his late-night appearance on the NFL Network's set that he looked for Moss after the Jets' game-winning field goal on the first drive of overtime, but Moss already had left the field.
"That was the fastest he ran all night, was getting off that field," Favre said.
It was all good-natured, by the way. Favre and Moss get along well, and Favre tried twice in recent years while in Green Bay to convince the Packers to acquire Moss.
Favre, as always, was engaging and interesting in his televised postgame remarks. He called the 34-31 victory over the Patriots "a huge win for this whole organization," and added: "We knew what we had to do. We knew what was at stake."
He said of the Jets' offense that he has had to learn on the run: "It was all thrown together quickly, this offense. It's a work in progress.... Fortunately, we're producing along the way."
Of his situation with the Jets after his bitter preseason departure from Green Bay, Favre said: "I really like the guys. I really like the coaching staff. There's no substitute for winning."
