Jags' Peterson Demoted
Jacksonville Jaguars Coach Jack Del Rio told ESPN that he has demoted linebacker Mike Peterson to backup status behind Daryl Smith.
Peterson told reporters earlier this week that he no longer expected to have a significant role with the team.
He was on the club's inactive list for last weekend's game at Detroit after being sent home from the Jaguars' practice facility for two straight days at midweek following an exchange of words with Del Rio during a team meeting.
