LB Expects Jags to Shove Him Aside

Linebacker Mike Peterson told reporters today he doesn't expect to regain a significant role with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"The season's not going well [so] older guy, move him out of the way and get ready for next year," Peterson said, according to the Associated Press. "I guess that's the way it is. That's the way I'm taking it."

Peterson was on the Jaguars' inactive list last weekend after clashing with Coach Jack Del Rio. He was sent home from the club's practice facility on two straight days last week after reportedly exchanging words with Del Rio during a team meeting.

Peterson met with Del Rio on Friday and traveled with the Jaguars to Detroit for Sunday's game but was on the inactive list. He reportedly also was fined $10,000.
