March Trial Date For McKinnie

Minnesota Vikings left tackle Bryant McKinnie had a March 16 trial date set in Miami, the Associated Press reported.

He faces four charges related to a fight outside a nightclub in February. McKinnie already served a four-game suspension by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

His attorney, who appeared in court today, reportedly is attempting to negotiate an arrangement by which McKinnie could participate in a pretrial diversion program and the charges would be dropped if he fulfills certain requirements.

McKinnie has pleaded not guilty.
