More on Del Rio vs. Peterson
There is more being said about Jacksonville Jaguars Coach Jack Del Rio's decision to send home linebacker Mike Peterson from the team's practice facility Wednesday.
ESPN reports that Del Rio and Peterson had an exchange during a team meeting Monday, with Del Rio criticizing a play on which Peterson made a sack and followed with a celebration during Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. According to the report, Del Rio didn't want players to respond but Peterson did anyway, and Peterson ended up leaving the room during the meeting.
A story on the Jaguars' website Wednesday also indicated that the disagreement stemmed from Peterson's sack celebration, which came with the Jaguars trailing by 18 points. That report indicated that Peterson's displeasure with his contract could be a factor as well.
Del Rio did not give a reason Wednesday for sending home Peterson and did not indicate when the linebacker might be allowed to rejoin the team.
