Fred Taylor's Season Over

Jacksonville Jaguars tailback Fred Taylor is headed to the injured reserve list.

He'll miss the final three games of the season because of torn ligaments in his thumb suffered during last Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears.

He is to undergo surgery and the injury conceivably could end his stay with the team if the Jaguars choose to replace him with a younger running back in the offseason.

Taylor finishes the season with 556 rushing yards.

LaBrandon Toefield and Alvin Pearman worked out for club officials Wednesday and one of the two running backs was to be signed to take Taylor's spot on the roster for the remainder of the season.
