Conference Semifinals Picks

Saturday Games

Ravens at Titans
The Ravens were the better team when the two clubs met in Baltimore during the regular season, but were undone by a debatable roughing-the-passer call that aided Tennessee's game-winning drive. The Ravens are better now, with more experience for rookie QB Joe Flacco and a power running game that relies on FB Le'Ron McClain. The Titans could be diminished on defense if Albert Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch aren't at full strength as they return to the lineup.
Pick: Ravens

Cardinals at Panthers
There's no reason to believe the Cardinals can travel east and beat a good team on the road. It didn't happen during the regular season, and now their passing offense will be a little bit less imposing with WR Anquan Boldin slowed or sidelined by a strained hamstring. The Panthers are rested and healthy, and should control the game by running the ball on offense and hitting WR Steve Smith for a couple big plays in the passing game.
Pick: Panthers

Sunday Games

Eagles at Giants
Certainly, the Eagles have a chance. They beat the Giants once in two regular season meetings and won't be intimidated. But which Eagles team will show up? The one that mostly played well down the stretch? Or the one that tied the Bengals, got QB Donovan McNabb benched in Baltimore and could do nothing on offense in an important late-season game at FedEx Field against the Redskins? The Giants had every member of their active roster participate in Thursday's practice. They'll find a way to win a close one.
Pick: Giants

Chargers at Steelers
The Chargers probably won't get much help from injured RB LaDainian Tomlinson. Darren Sproles was superb last week as Tomlinson's replacement, but things will be far tougher against the Pittsburgh defense. The Steelers lean on that defense for the win.
Pick: Steelers
