Kokinis Hiring Close in Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns appear close to hiring George Kokinis as their general manager.
Kokinis, the director of pro personnel for the Baltimore Ravens, would work with newly hired coach Eric Mangini.
He emerged as the front-runner for the job after the Browns were rebuffed by New England Patriots front office chief Scott Pioli, who took the GM job in Kansas City instead.
Mangini said at an awards banquet Wednesday night that the Browns will "have some news here in the very short future" on the general manager search, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
