Falcons Might Franchise Punter
According to the league-owned NFL Network, the Atlanta Falcons plan to use their franchise player tag on punter Michael Koenen.
Using the franchise designation on Koenen would give him a one-year contract for $2.48 million next season.
Koenen would be only the second punter, after Todd Sauerbrun, ever given the franchise player tag, according to the NFL Network.
