Jets Say They're Confident in QBs

INDIANAPOLIS--Many people around the league seem to expect the New York Jets to add a veteran quarterback following the retirement of Brett Favre.

But Jets officials say it's possible that their starter next season will come from among the three quarterbacks already on the roster--Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff and Eric Ainge.

"I have confidence in these three guys," Jets Coach Rex Ryan said Friday.

Starting Clemens didn;t work out so good a couple years ago, but perhaps he is ready now. I bet they will still nab some vet QB off the wire, perhaps Collins or Frerotte or Garcia as a backup plan in case the 3 guys they have on the roster stink it up in training camp. A wiley old veteran can add some competition to the camps too, or perhaps just impart some old football knowledge.
