TE Diagnosed With Heart Ailment
INDIANAPOLIS--According to a report by Sports Illustrated, Northeastern tight end Brian Mandeville was advised by doctors to quit football after a problem with one of his heart valves was discovered during medical testing at the NFL scouting combine.
His agent, Ryan Tollner, told Sports Illustrated that Mandeville's condition is not life-threatening and further testing will be done.
"Brian will fly back to California and be examined by heart specialists to completely diagnose the issue," Tollner said on the magazine's website. "Obviously his well-being is priority number one at this time."
Tollner made similar comments to the Boston Globe.
