Smith's Contract With Union Completed
DeMaurice Smith told reporters today after a visit to meet with Minnesota Vikings players that his contract as executive director of the NFL Players Association is completed, according to the Associated Press.
It was reported here last week that the contract was expected to be completed by Monday.
The D.C. attorney was elected in March to succeed the late Gene Upshaw as executive director of the players' union. There had been recent reports of differences between Smith and the players' ruling executive committee about contract terms.
