Burress Case Adjourned

The weapon case involving former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has been adjourned until Sept. 23, the Associated Press reported.

Burress made a court appearance today.

He faces weapon charges related to the incident last year in which he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a New York nightclub.

Burress is a free agent after being released by the Giants.

His representatives reportedly hope he will sign with a team and play during the upcoming season.

Burress's attorneys have been unable to complete a plea deal with prosecutors to resolve the case.
