Five Teams After Burress

UPDATED (9:48 p.m.)...

According to agent Drew Rosenhaus, wide receiver Plaxico Burress is drawing interest from five teams.

"There are now 5 teams interested in Plaxico," Rosenhaus wrote on his Twitter account. "I expect more teams to enter the mix over the next few weeks as well."

Burress is a free agent after being released by the New York Giants.

He faces weapon charges in relation to the incident last year in which he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a New York nightclub.

Rosenhaus did not indentify any interested teams.

The New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears are among the teams that have been linked to Burress in media reports.

The NFL has confirmed reports that it is reviewing Burress's case for possible discipline under the league's personal conduct policy.

Plax should have gotten some training on handling a gun, but I don't fault him for carrying. These famous guys have to deal with more than their fair share of crazies. If McNair had been armed maybe he'd still be among the living.
